If you could explain the difference in why one is bad and one isn't I'm listening.

I can explain for me.

A Baconator without the bun is 790 calories. My TDEE (maintenance) is 1260. So if I’m trying to lose weight, which I am currently, a Baconator sans bun is nearly my entire day of calories.

Grilled chicken nuggets and a salad with FF Italian from CFA is a fraction of that.

Obviously not everyone is as short as I am, but the point remains that if you’re not obese, 800 calories is a large chunk of your day. That’s fine if you plan around it. However - notice the posts that recommend those meals never mention planning around it or that it is calorie dense compared to lean meals. They wait until they are called out and say “WeLl ObViOuSlY you don’t eat that every meal”.

Something that actually isn’t at all obvious to a keto newbie.

Every time someone tells me I should go keto, those calorie dense meals are always what they harp on and don’t ever really mention that it’s not something you can do for every meal.

I really have to explain and caloric and saturated fat difference between a grilled chicken breast and a baconator?

calorie count isn't a real answer. It works for her because she weighs nothing. You're just here stirring shite.

Irrelevant, if it were you should recommend eating nothing but lettuce which would lead to severe malnutrition

Explain why saturated fat is bad

We sometimes eat fat bombs to get our fat. Very important to keto success. Also, when I plateau and stop losing, I find that a can of Vienna sausages will help push me back into weight loss. Probably the fat in them too.

calorie count is literally THE answer. you aren't going to just aimlessly eat all the bunless baconators, fat bombs, and Vienna sausages you want and still get to a low body fat percentage.

There are studies showing higher weight gains or weight losses with the same calories, even same macros, but say a different type of sugar (like glucose vs fructose). Calorie count is an easy, practical answer but there are other answers too showing just how complex the body actually is.

Literally no one has made that claim.

This is kind of an antiquated view. Saturated fat in and of itself is not bad for you.

I really dont understand this. Nearly every organization I can find says it raises LDL and can lead to heart disease. Im not saying that you should have no saturated fat but there seems to be a thought that "hey im doing keto. I can eat all the steak, cheese, and butter I want".

Are you saying this as some type of medical professional or dietician? Not trying to be a smart arse.

Exactly. People are losing weight with keto, paleo, etc because they are removing foods like bread, pasta, etc that have huge amounts of calories (in addition to the carbs). I myself tend to avoid carbs and when I get really strict about it, my caloric intake goes down because I’m eating grilled meats, veggies, and salads.

You can’t eat 5,000 calories a day of bunless baconators and lose weight. Or be healthy.

Oh frick off.

I made a comment in jest about how absurd it sounds (and it does) when we are listing baconators and fried chicken as healthy keto lunches

My first statement is people are losing weight on low carb diets because not only are they cutting carbs but also cutting calories by not eating bread, pastas, and fried foods they normally would consume in addition to their meal. It makes plenty of sense but I forget who I’m talking to on here.

The regular Joe office worker isn’t eating 5,000 calories a day in fat and protein and losing weight. Stop it.
