re: Bee removal recs

Bee removals this time of year are tough. Not saying it cannot be done, but you have a lot of factors working against you. Flow is over, bee hive population is dwindling down due to colder weather, the flow is over. They are just on barely survive mode. The bee keepers that are doing the removal are just trying to make a quick dollar. Unfortunately it usually ends up costing a lot more rhan it is worth.

Bella Fresca is hands down my favorite restaurant in the area. Great service and food is incredible.

I would avoid driver facing and turn the sound off. They can be invaluable in an accident especially when the other driver is claiming it is your fault. They should be standard in all vehicles especially with how litigious Louisiana is. Transcend is a good brand and what I have in my truck. There is a commercial insurance carrier in La that recommends this brand as well. Garmin makes good ones too.
Bella Fresca
Heron
Zuzul
Fatcalf although this one is in a sketchier area than the other three.

If his rack makes a basket, he is ready for a casket.
I just got the Ogio Gambit backpack and really like it. Has a lot of well thought put storage and easy access to everything.
Bella Fresca, Heron, Fat Calf, Zuzul, or Koi. Cannot go wrong with any of those.
We had water hammer and I got the arrestors and they didn’t do anything. I called a plumber and he installed a pressure relief tank and still had it. I ended up getting a can of spray foam and sprayed it down the holes the pipes go into in the attic. That fixed it after spending $400 on a plumber.

re: Montreal/Quebec City

We stayed at the Fairmont in Montreal one night, wife was sick so didn’t get to explore Montreal much. Took train from Montreal to Quebec. Train station is underneath Fairmont in Montreal. It was a cool experience that I would definitely do again.

Quebec City is awesome, food is great everywhere. We stayed at the Fairmont Frontenac. Hotel itself is a sight to behold, the rooms were tiny. Will be staying elsewhere next go around, but it is absolutely amazing.

Le Continental, Lapin Saute were really good. Really didn’t have a bad meal there. The pastries there are unreal. I think I could set a record eating the chocolate croissants.

Notre Dame Cathedral is an architectural marvel and I would consider a must visit.

We cannot wait to go back.
Are you hauling for hire?
Crossing state lines?
Hot shot?
Just a DOT or MC number?

That is high for trucking especially for size of trucks and clean loss history.

New venture truckers typically are less than that in an intermediate radius.
Jomax is such a magical potion. It amazes me every single time I use it. Looks like your house has a fresh coat of paint after.

We did train last year and it was pretty cool experience. Super smooth ride and cool scenery. You are’t going to get Banff type scenery, it will be mainly small towns and forests. They served lunch in business class as well as drinks. Lunch was ok, nothing to brag about. We would definitely do it again.
I appreciate everyone’s input. I am going to go an alternate route. I also ordered two new tires with an 80 mph rating so hopefully that will help out.

Jon Boat trailer speed question

Posted by clickboom on 3/27/25 at 9:17 pm
I have a 16’ Jon boat and the tires specify not going over 60mph. I need to haul it about an hour away and back with majority of travel on interstate with 70mph limit. What is everyone’s experience hauling a jon boat above the recommended tire speeds?

There are treatments, but no cure as of yet. treatments are to maintain current level so it progresses slower. Usually a weekly IV treatment. I just participated in a feasibility study with a company that is trying to do home based treatment kind of like a diabetes pump. It can show up from kids to adults.

Mine fortunately no symptoms right now and found out by happenstance. It is a genetic disorder and there are different levels and phenotypes that effect people in a different way.

UT Health Tyler just happens to be an Alpha 1 research facility and Dr. Megan Devine is incredible. Your GP should be able to order blood work to check. As another poster stated, it is very rare and most physicians will not be able to answer many of the questions you have about it. alpha1.org is a good resource to read up on it.
Tell him he needs to be checked for Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency.
Never tried this on a pier and beam floor, but a thermal will show you wall and ceiling joists very well. Might try that if you have access to one.

Need to carve out at least 30 minutes for ascent and descent combined. It is super easy to do and my 5yr old loved filling his pockets with acorns on the way up and down. Fun way to kill a little time with your kids. Not worth going out of your way.
Cottens is a filthy filthy place and they do a terrible job and end product is not good. I dropped a deer off there a few years ago and the place smelled like absolute death and flies everywhere. Bellvue, Wildthangs, and Dowlings are all good spots.
The water pump install is good. The old pump was in really good condition to begin with. After I installed the new one it does the exact same thing.

I have run thin wire and weed eater string up the peehole and nothing changes. Still dribbles out.

I did take the intake screens off and cleaned them out. They really didn’t have anything to clean out to begin with.

I did follow the line up to the block, but I didn’t remove the hose just yet. I may try that next. I was just trying to see if my weed eater string made it around the elbows on the hoses.

I have also hooked a hose up to the flush port on the side of the engine and it intermittently dripped out of the pee hole. I read where you shouldn’t have your engine running when hooked up to the flush port. It should only be running when you have muffs or if the motor is in water.

I was thinking yamaha engines automatically started peeing upon cranking the engine unlike mercury.
