Farmacy closes, is the burger trend dead?

Company Burger closed their second location a while back.
Cowbell committed suicide over covid.
Atomic never expanded into the chain it strived to be.
I never got around to trying Farmacy. They had odd hours I tried a few to go but always missed them.

100% anecdotal but I don’t think millennials like burgers that much, at least compared to previous generations

The entire food-service industry is taking a bath. Covid hit their revenue. Inflation hit their payroll. Recession hit their customers.

... ironically I prefer all those things to a burger. Especially burritos. I like to go to the taco trucks for steak burritos.
If a Buffalo Chicken sandwich is on the menu I'm getting that.

I think burgers have kind of jumped the shark in the last few years. It's hard to find just a good, old fashioned burger for < $8 now. Everything you come across is over-indulgent and over-priced. (Not to say it's not good, just has become somewhat of a luxury item.)

I went there a few times. Dr. Tan burger was easily top 5 in the city. The place was packed every time I went in. Probably some poor money management.

this. i like a "fancy" burger every now and then but the classic simple burger done well is hard to find sometimes.

Farmacy wasn't terrible, but Company opening a second location was absurd.
Not sure if either crack Top 10 in the city these days.

Well that’s a bummer. I ate at Farmacy recently by the recommendation of TigeAttorney, and it was a damn good burger. I was looking forward to going again. Damn.

Pre-Covid when people were still at work in the CBD Company was always line out the door.

Good food but wouldn’t ever go if it would be dark on the way in or out. Always nice to hear the crunching of a broken window as you secure a parking spot, knowing the fate of the last car that parked there. Shitty location and very few tables. Sad to see it go.

Dang. I’m a millennial and burgers are my favorite food. I could go the rest of my life without tacos, which I’ve learned is weird.

If you’re ever in BSL you need to try the burger from Thorny Oyster. It’s amazing.
