I try to eat at a new place each week. I'm running low on big name spots. Doesn't have to be fancy or "new orleans" food, vietnamese or such is great. Thoughts?

Patois is great right now. Love when they have the smoker rolling.

Chat Noir was good last week.

Had a good meal at Le Crepe Nanou several weeks ago too.

Have they not been great the past 10 years they've been open?

We used to go more often than we do now and like a lot of places, last couple of years has been spotty. Last two times we've been it has been lights out.

Really liked Breakaways. Small menu, but very well done. Hope they make it, the owner was great at Green Goddess.

Jamila's. Tunisian food. Jamila cooks and her husband serves. Very friendly couple. I think Cherry Street? Uptown tucked between Carrollton and St. Charles.

Wishing Town Bakery. Awesome dumplings. Under the radar Metairie gem that just opened a second location at Magazine and Nashville.

I really like that place and will take that all day every day over any of the three places across the canal from there.

My memory sucks but I think it's Maple St. Had a very fun date there one night and loved the food.
