And let's not forget, the modern craft industry was built on breweries opening up in questionable parts of town.
Yeah, but questionable in New Orleans will get you robbed, beaten, and shot and not necessarily in that order. Just take a stroll down google maps street view. This isn't Tchoupitoulas.

Less than a year ago, French Truck was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight, with crowds outside Barrell Proof and Courtyard
Unfortunately, questionable pertains to most of the city these days

Let's just hope the gentrification spreads faster into this area.
Before Katrina, I think the Irish Channel was a pretty bad area wasn't it?

I understand economics. I don't understand your argument, or if you're making one.

That one is supposed to be going to be at 501 N Genois. It’s been awhile since I’ve heard anything about it

And yet most of you that feel this way probably voted for a president with the same characteristics.
Maybe some did.
But the difference is there were basically only two real, viable options after the primary. There’s more than two good breweries in Louisiana.

I'm more familiar with that area than you can ever imagine. Lafitte Greenway was part of my life for seven years.

This location is going to need a parking lot to be successful IMO.

Not going to boycott but the guy is a giant douche.
Agreed. He's never been douchey to me, but I've seen him spout off on social media. He's an idiot and a douche, but I won't inconvenience myself because someone has different than me. I like his beer, and I like his brewery (the first one).

A lot of folks asking about location are thinking about the old New Orleans. Cats used to get dropped all the time within a block or 2 of my house, but now its practically Mayberry!
While the above statement is mainly true, all kidding aside there are a lot of place now in NOLA you see white folks walking dogs that 10 years ago would be drug corners and crack houses. Yes, you probably shouldn't walk alone in that neighborhood at 3am, but its pretty safe.

I agree with you, but this place will be 3 blocks from the Lafitte projects. You don’t want to get caught slipping in that area ya heard. They are still fairly new but just like those hops these projects ain’t getting any fresher. They will start to fade fast.

It's also 6 blocks from a billion dollars worth of medical facilities. Maybe he thinks the doctors will go hang out after getting off their rotations.

isn't that kind of a rough area??
Didn't some thugs put a hole in a pizza delivery guy's head on this street? I think a couple of years ago...

I've been boycotting the place for one reason. It's fricking miserable there in the summer. I'll go back and grab a beer or two there if whoever I'm with wants to but it's not my first choice simply because there are other breweries in the city that I like more. I'll add that I think the owner is a giant doucher though.

I live less than 5 miles from his brewery and will not go there. If people don't like that statement, tough titty. There are several other breweries in the area that I will frequent no matter how good his beer may be
"I don't agree with his politics so I'm going to take money out of his pocket"
To each their own. I'll admit he's a giant asshat on Facebook.
