What's the backstory on that?

quote:

I’m gonna redo my review since I was told to go F myself by the brewery in a private message. But they did say love at the end so it’s all good. I’ve been here multiple times. Mostly to eat the food trucks they have there and get out as quickly as possible. Weed infested courtyard with a few crappy tables. I didn’t find their staff to be all that wonderful nor was the beer anything special. There are way better spots in the city to drink at and you can support locals not California transplants that tell you to F yourself because you give an honest opinion of the business. Rather than private messaging me and acting completely unprofessional, why not put some of your energy and effort into improving the grounds of your business?

This is why you don’t support this business or the transplant owner. Leave an honest review of what you think about the place and you get told to go F yourself. The new New Orleans at its finest

It's not his political beliefs that I care about. It's his feeling of superiority and need to project those beliefs on someone else.

There are dozens and dozens of other companies that I don't necessarily agree with their politics, but they aren't pushing that on anyone. When there are a handful of other nearby breweries, I'll spend my money there.

I doubt I am hurting him any since I've never been in the first place and the only reason I have heard about him started because of his social media posts. If I want to go have a few beers at a brewery, Nola and Port Orleans are closer to be and apparently at least have AC in the summer.

Fortunately, I'm an adult and can separate my disagreement with someone's personal beliefs from what they do as a business owner.

I am an adult too. And I choose to not patronize a place whose owner is a douche nozzle.

It's really, really easy to not follow the guy on social media and not be exposed to things he says that you disagree with.

I don't follow him. I see some of the things posted on here, then checked it out for myself. I even told the guy, it would be beneficial to calm down on the whole SJW/White guilt stuff. He decided to double down. Can't fix stupid.

I don't care about his political beliefs. It's his outward push of his political beliefs and the manner in which he does so that lead me to decide not to patronize his establishment. I have certain convictions. He's a douche, ergo, I will not support him. As an adult, with free will, is want to do.

Maybe you shouldn’t follow his personal page then. He doesnt post anything on the courtyard page.

I don't. I see some of the outrageous stuff he posts, here, and check it out for myself and see how crazy it is.

Oh, and his little times picayune article, which started the whole thing.

Again, the unfollow button is your friend. Ignorance is bliss, I tell you.

I don't drink Courtyard beer because I agree with Scott's viewpoints and personality. I drink it because it's some of the best beer in the state.

You are free to do so. I don't drink his beer because, well, he sucks and his white guilt SJW BS is what is wrong with humans today.

Same reason I argue with my wife when she watches Grey's Anatomy, or why I do my best to stay away from starbucks. If you outwardly show that you have disdain for myself and my way of life, then you will no longer receive my money. (Not saying the fella at Courtyard has disdain for my way of life.)

And you're free to shout from the rooftops why you don't drink his beer. And I'm free to think your reasons are stupid.

I don't follow him. It was the Nola.com stuff that I first heard of him, then people talking about it here then the little I did look at his profile on that where I said "Nope, not going there".

If you like his beer, go, enjoy. I am not stopping you. I will just give my money elsewhere.

The article that they approached him about? And it was a garbage article, poorly framed and written.

Everything else was on his personal Facebook page

Well, the real irony in all this is, he is telling us we should just ignore Scott and we are stupid for our reasons not to drink his beer when he could just ignore us himself. Instead, he keeps ignoring the same practice he is attempting to preach.

I still think your reasons are stupid. I don't know you well enough to know if you are stupid.

Carry on.

Do you have convictions over anything? Some people have such strong convictions over not drinking anything that isn't craft that they refuse to spend their money on it, even if it's a beer they really like. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I understand the argument.

That is your prerogative. It's what makes this country great. Just because we don't agree on this topic, doesn't make either one of us wrong.

I may go have a beer on some patio and enjoy this weather when I get off work today.

That would make about as much sense in NOLA as talking shite to Saints fans.

Oh wait......He probably would get a Husky.

For someone who doesn’t patronize a business because the owner is a “douch nozzle” , you sure come off like a douch nozzle yourself.
