You people are delusional. Claiming to never eat there and then claiming that between your 2-year hiatus you are able to tell everyone that the size of the chicken finger shrunk. The stupidity on this board never ceases to amaze me.

I always love people like this. they write 10 critical posts in 1 thread about some place they claim to never eat. Complaining about how bad the food is.

they never eat it and dont like it but somehow know so much about the place.

i dont really like Canes. But i couldnt tell you much about shrinking chicken fingers or increasing prices because i dont eat there....because i dont like it.

I think the place is decent drunk food or a decent option if you really like chicken fingers. But I'm not much of a fan either. It is rather interesting though that people who never eat there seem to know so much about the place like you said.

I'm sure Mike da Tigah has 100000 opinions about how they're some morally abhorrent shite hole and has never eaten their food.

In truth, I have never actually been to a Canes. Also in truth, I eat Cane's probably 6 times a year at family parties.

My parents just had some 2 weeks ago and some of the strips were nugget sized. Not an exaggeration. The pieces appear to be much smaller than say 5 or 6 years ago.

As I said in my post up above, this isn't a new trend. Many items at the grocery store have shrunk in the last year or two. I have a suspicion that Taco Bell just shrunk a few of their items.

The thing with Cane's is that first they shrunk the number of pieces from the combo and kept the price the same, then they raised prices, then they shrunk the pieces.

It isn't hard to see why this would piss off some of their fans and it makes them an easy target for people who aren't fans.

I used to eat there very often. I said I recently had it for the first time in a long time. I also work with a guy who is a Cane's freak and have to listen to him bitch about the price increases when they happen.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's happening at a fast food joint. Hell, I've been to McDonalds twice in the past year and could tell you that the dollar menu doesn't change much, if at all.

Staziones Gas Station in Pierre Part is where I get my chicken fix after hitting the water. They even have the cane's sauce in the cooler. Get it for about half the price.

I saw their menu on their website and was turned away because Zaxby's has a much bigger menu and has awesome shakes.

I'm not a big fan of Cane's, but it is leaps and bounds better than Zaxby's.

Canes is terrible. The only time I eat it is at tailgates when I don't pay for it. It's overrated and tastes like shite. Half the time I've eaten there, the fries were still half frozen.

The only reason to go there is the toast and sauce IMO

So you are basically saying that your panties got wadded, rather than viewing it for what it is in fact.

For a finance/econ guy you sure seem to take rational business decisions in a strange way. As if they're personally attacking their customers or something. And IMO, they have easily the best fast food workers outside of maybe Chik-fil-A. Not even close either.

I don't think that a potential customer no longer consuming because of an increase in price is a strange way to react. As a matter of fact, for a normal good or an inferior good (depends on how one wants to categorize Cane's) that is exactly, everything else held constant, what one would expect the result of a price increase on demand to be.

Still worth 10 dollars for Caniac Combo?

Good Lord no. Do you know what food options you can get for $10? Hell you can get a large supreme from Pizza hut for $10 that will feed 3 people. You can get a damn good meal for $10.
The only time I ate at Canes was when my wife had a free coupon. No way I would pay to eat there.

I still call it that over the speaker. Honestly though, the kid's meal is plenty for me.

Cane's still has a significant presence in Louisiana and are strong supporters of LSU athletics.

That's another corporation which raises prices quite often.

Floyd Mayweather disagrees with you fellas. He was on HBO 24/7 Mayweather/Cotto the other night pimping on his Cane's Vegas Caniac.

The chicken fingers keep getting smaller and smaller. And, the sauce container was smaller than I remember. I go every now and then when I get a craving but I was shocked to see it go up again.

It really amazes me how people are willing to pay ten bucks for chicken fingers. It's cheaper to buy a bag of breasts and make your own. Speaking of McD's, besides the fries being good, that black angus burger is damn good. I don't know if ya'll have the black angus in BR though. I actually really liked it and I'm not a big fan of fast food. I was behind a woman the other day at Mc D's for my fries fix, the woman ordered a Black Anus burger. It was funny seeing the worker try to keep a straight face. I think the guy who took her order was the manager because he was an older guy.

I never said his reaction to his own consumer behavior was irrational. I was speaking from Cane's rational business decision point of view.
