If service was really an important part of the equation Popeye's would be out of business.

Popeye's

Popeye's is a Golden God. Instead of getting more expensive, I just got a coupon for a free 2 pc chicken in the mail.

I'll laugh at the people in line at Cane's while Latesha is snarling at me and I'm enjoying my 2 pc spicy.

I quit years ago when they reduced the number of strips. Shame for them, because I used to go at least once a week.

I can't believe they raised the prices AGAIN. 5 dollar Caniac, sweet tea, and sub a canes sauce for coleslaw. Man I miss those days.

We used to eat there at least twice a month but have scaled that down to about once every other month or so now. In the past 2 years they have taken away a chicken finger, then went up on prices, went up on the price again, made the sauce containers smaller, Made their tenders smaller, and now they have gone up on their prices again. Pretty amazing how they keep going up on price but yet keep giving less.

I also hate that they give you 22oz of ice and 2oz of coke in their cups.

I notice this too and it drives me crazy.

I don't understand why people rave about that pebble ice (we have it at my work too). If you don't put much, it melts quicker because the pieces are so small and airy. If you put more than half of the cup with ice, that ice is so compact that there is not much room for drink.

I have only been once, about a year ago. It was good, but didn't seem worth the money then. It even felt like they were gonna charge per packet of ketchup. I am just as happy going to Brothers for their chicken strips. More food, less money, and still good. Fries could be better though.

No. It's not anything special to me in the first place. All they sell is chicken strips and their chicken doesn't even compare to Chick-Fil-A.

I'll still eat it at the same rate, about once every 2-3 months.

canes is disgusting. I was never a big fan, but the last time I went the chicken was disgusting and not much bigger than a chicken nugget. plus it was expensive. Im never eating there again, period.

This. The strips are shrinking. My parents had Canes at a party a few weeks ago and the pieces were tiny.

You people are delusional. Claiming to never eat there and then claiming that between your 2-year hiatus you are able to tell everyone that the size of the chicken finger shrunk. The stupidity on this board never ceases to amaze me.

No, but claiming they are local is BS. They picked up and moved the shop to another locale.

Some of it is still local. Not all of it went to Dallas. But basically every single food chain is headquartered in Dallas so it makes sense to be there.

And I still consider them locale as long as the owner resides here and supports LA.

Ok, but Taco Bell and McDonalds prices didn't increase in the same curve.

Meh.

I couldn't tell you what shrank or didn't shrink because I have been there a total of 5 times and get kid's meal or snack box, but any person who has eaten somewhere more than once should be able to tell if it got smaller or not

Don't be naive. If someone is claiming something like that and then turns around and says that they haven't been in two years, their statement is automatically questionable. Not sure why you can't see that. It's common sense.

I mean obviously if they haven't been in 2 years, they have no idea what's going on there. But if they went 2 years ago and then went now (which is what I thought you were saying..?) they have just as valid of an opinion as anyone else.

I had the worst dining experience of my life 2 spring breaks ago and I still remember every detail like it was tonight.

And you aren't being honest if you claim the strips are the same size as the past.

By the way, I haven't ever been to Cane's but I have them several times a year because the parents get it and two other family members always have them at parties.

Popeye's is also guilty of incredible shrinking chicken and also shrinking sides. Cane's is not the only one guilty of this trend.
