Ate Cane's once in 2004 and thought it was terrible. One of my truck drivers(should have been a clue)said it was great. I'd rather eat McDonald's than Cane's.

I mean obviously if they haven't been in 2 years, they have no idea what's going on there. But if they went 2 years ago and then went now (which is what I thought you were saying..?) they have just as valid of an opinion as anyone else.

As a means for comparison? Absolutely not.

If I showed you a picture of a person, then showed you a new picture two years later, would you be able to tell me the differences?

Popeye's is also guilty of incredible shrinking chicken and also shrinking sides. Cane's is not the only one guilty of this trend.

Exactly.
The gripe people are making here seems to be the price in relation to what you're getting. And I definitely understand the gripe.

I dine out for almost every meal. I can start listing off places I can get lunch for $10 that don't involve a drive thru window and 1 menu item.

If I get fast food, I'm getting dollar menu because the only reason I'm getting fast food is to either save money or because I'm not wearing a bra/in jammie pants and can't get out of the car

Me too. And McDonald's serves the purpose of me visiting a fast food restaurant. It's convenient and I can order from the dollar menu. If I am willing to spend $10 on food, you better believe I'm ordering from a real restaurant.

Actually, Cane's is better than McDonald's nuggets but Cane's doesn't have anything remotely as good as the fries at McDs.

If I sat down and ate the person and took note of what they looked like as I ate them, yes. That's a horrible comparison. We're talking about the size of a chicken finger, not "spot the difference" on a human.

Especially if these people have been to Cane's more than one time in their life.

which makes it even more difficult to identify differences with. the analogy works.

Sorry you have to take everything so literal. But from your posts thus far I'm not surprised.

I just went back and read every post in the thread and "literally" not a single person in this thread said they have only been once and it was 2 years ago and now they notice the change in size. Not a single person.

All I could find remotely close was this:

quote:

We eat there maybe at the most every 3 months or so now. In the past 2 years they have taken away a chicken finger, then went up on prices, went up on the price again, made the sauce containers smaller, and now they have gone up on their prices again. Pretty amazing how they keep going up on price but yet keep giving less.

Even people who haven't eaten it in a year or so have been more than once. And not a single person in the thread who said they haven't been in years mentioned the shrinking fingers.

Don't you dare use facts or logic. This is TD.

Plus from his spirited defense, he is clearly a part owner or upper management for Cane's.

The pieces are smaller, the prices are higher and it never was great to start out. All facts.

It's ridiculous Every person who complained about the shrinking size was a poster who said they eat there regularly or semi-regularly. Every person who said they've only been once or a long time ago didn't even mention that they've seen a size decrease. It's like he combined all posters in the thread into one person.

It appears so.

Can't believe anyone would rather eat McDonald's over anything.

They evidently did some marketing analysis years ago that told them to make awesome fries and nothing else would matter.

Their burger is the worst out of ALL burger chains yet they continue to dominate world wide. Actually amazing they do so well given how terrible everything is, other than the fry.

Well I don't even really eat chicken fingers. I find chicken fingers as a whole to be a terribly boring food I'm REALLY weird about how I eat my meat though so I won't go into it.

I actually think Cane's smells intoxicating and I've craved it before. But as soon as I eat it, I regret it because it kills my stomach. And I eat like shite so that takes a lot.

I actually prefer their little kid's burgers over any burgers at Burger King and such.. but again, I'm not into the taste of meat.

As far as for worldwide, they don't make burgers everywhere. They make foods specific to the area.

I tried one of their premium chicken sandwiches recently and was surprised. I didn't except that from McDonalds. The bread was different than the buns they use for burgers and the sandwich was actually decent.

I'd never get it again though because, like I said, if I'm going to spend that much I am going somewhere else. I spent $7.09 on the meal. The sandwich I get at the Chimes is that price.

I eat at Cane's probably 4-5 times a year. And compared to 5 years ago the tenders have shrunk and the prices have gone up. But that can be said for many fast food and dine in restaurants. A lot of new places will serve bigger portions then once they start making s big profit they decrease the portion size (and quality/taste) and increase the prices. They view it as being cost effective but it actually turns a lot of consumers off.
