I think Brasas Peru barely made a year at the doomed Calendar's site. People seem to universally rave about it too.

Also wanna add that City Slice killed themselves moving locations. I don’t think they’ve officially loses but they can’t be too far off.

I thought they’d get a bigger crowd, but it appears they did better at the Chimes location.

We were there the night before all the COVID nonsense kicked off. Boosie bash was going on and you could hear the gunshots from the bad area.

We went a few times, but it never really seemed to gain traction. I actually love their pizza.

Brasas actually was open 2.5 years. That’s prob the longest tenure for any restaurant there since Calendars.

From what I was told, I’m pretty sure a local coffee place bought it out. Maybe the City Roots people.

The last thing that area needs to another coffee shop

Another short lived flop in BR was Bluefish Grill off of Corporate. They had that huge arse aquarium in the middle of the restaurant. Always liked that place as a kid

I worked at Blue Fish Grill in college. I made no money, but I had fun working there. One day, there was no schedule up, and we were informed they were closing the doors in a week.

Some of the Perkins Rowe restaurants that are no longer operating:

The Grill Room which later became Lava Cantina

The Grape which later became Wine Loft

Fish City Grill

Kona Grill

Far from a flop, had a good run and was packed every time I went. Restaurants are volatile and the owners closed the BR location during Covid IIRC

They changed the pizza, it was great at the Chimes location, the new crust and sauce combo is terrible

I'll add Rock Paper Taco to the Biggest Flop list.. It should be on the top of the list.. There's no excuse for the way this place fell so fast, because the food was initially very good.. and better interior in fact, that what's at the location now.

The problem RPT had was management and pathetic kitchen staff. Night time service and food were horrible.

They had such a good business going when they were near Chimes street. Complete missteps to expand Olive & move RPT. Both places were never the same.

Dinner service at RPT was a zoo after 6 PM. If they'd have kept tighter reins on the kitchen, they'd still be open.

Would The Velvet Cactus qualify here? Used to actually like it but they went down quick.

Two atrociously named places.
It was Your Mom's but I believe they were sued by a restaurant in Michigan with the same name and had to change.

Used to go somewhat often until we were served raw chicken, never went back after that.

I always thought the atmosphere of this place was great. I went maybe 3-4 times for different things, never once had good service there. Cocktails were good, but the food was mediocre
