I liked the Italian restaurant that was in that spot, it went away then tried a comeback in the same spot but it was good

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and restart my phone.

LL - How many restaurants have been at Acadian & I-10? Specifically across from Outback (if that's still open). My vague memory seems to think it tried to be a higher-end Mexican place, BBQ, etc.
I remember when Mestizo was located in a former drive-thru on Sherwood. I worked at H&E and would regularly eat there. And Pasta Garden. Sorry if I derailed.

There was a lone Star steakhouse and it had a fire and closed. Then it became coyote blues out of Lafayette which was really good and then now it's the saltgrass.

That's right. I knew it had "blue" in the name.
I can still remember seeing "Back to the Future, 2" at the old shopping center by Kirby Smith, where Inga's was, later (now BWW).
There was also an awesome Vietnamese restraurant, circa 2000, closer to Highland. It was a Lenten go-to.
What is next to the campus Chimes, these days? Didn't it change hands and names over the years?

We used to like Breck Bistro, but one time we had a new waitress, and at one point, she walked by our table and said “Don’t worry, your food is making.” HA!

Although a bar and not a restaurant, BRs attempt at The Office was the first thing that came to my mind. It was slammed for a couple months then completely fell off a cliff. I'm not sure it lasted much more than a year.
They used to take the tip jars full of cash and throw it all in the air for patrons to scoop up.

Marcellos. Absolutely fantastic. They didn’t close from lack of business.
I need to try Southdowns Grille.

Another short lived flop in BR was Bluefish Grill off of Corporate. They had that huge arse aquarium in the middle of the restaurant. Always liked that place as a kid
Also not sure if anyone mentioned the Rum House. Another failed NOLA restaurant in BR. I always thought it was pretty good though, was surprised when it closed

I wish that Solera would have done better. I really enjoyed the food there.

Stinky's Fish Camp? What an awful name for a restaurant

Yes! Terrible name and location, but I remember the food being good.

Had like $1 martinis if I remember correctly, and the food was pretty solid.

Rum House on Perkins. Typical BR failure that does well elsewhere.

It's weird. Their food was good, but it was never hot. I always said that they must keep all of the taco ingredients on like a Subway style assembly line that isn't heated.
I was actually pretty surprised when they closed because they didn't seem to be struggling.
Anyone remember Restaurant IPO? They came in early on the small plates trend.
I think the same chef from there opened that Gouter place where Rocca is now. This was before Government had it's big resurgence.
