Dude, DeAngelo's was a long time BR staple!

The Rev, country nightclub. Original location is in Ruston.

I actually hit one of the bums sleeping outside The Rev with my power chair as I was rolling home from work on campus, haha... Said excuse me like three times and I tried to get around him but failed, haha...

What places are you surprised are still open? Our Mom's Rotolo's Craft and Crust ^ Not because I don't like them. Because they're always completely empty.
I think Craft & Crust stays open because Mitch Rotolo owns the entire strip. The other businesses are keeping Rotolo’s open.
With that being said, selling their Government location right before that area was revitalized was a mistake imo.

Oh, I didn't know that. Spanky's looks dead as hell all the time too, but I think Cheba Hut does well.

Also not sure if anyone mentioned the Rum House. Another failed NOLA restaurant in BR.
Still not sure why they closed up. They were always packed.

Someone told me yesterday Covid did them in.
Always seemed busy to me.

Bumsteers has to be up there with the amount of money they dropped in that remodel. Then, came Vars across the street
They had some overlap in management too
I actually just looked at Vars yesterday while I was at Chow Yum and said I hope they do something else with it. It's so ugly.

I think Spanky’s does well with to-go drinks, outside of football season it’s dead inside.
Rotolo’s does get a nice crowd when LSU is in session on the nights they do trivia/bingo. But ultimately their price point is way too high for a college campus.

Also wanna add that City Slice killed themselves moving locations. I don’t think they’ve officially loses but they can’t be too far off.
I thought they’d get a bigger crowd, but it appears they did better at the Chimes location.

I get out quite a bit, and I've still never been there. I'm surprised the Chimes St. location did okay, but I guess thinking more on it, it makes sense compared to the new spot. They at least had the foot traffic of that area.

I went a few times when they were on Chimes, and thought it was pretty good.
I thought moving to Nicholson would be great for them but it looks like it’ll be their death sentence. I’ve been once and was appalled at the interior. They put zero work in the new location.

What was the name of Sammy Nagem's (of old Sammy's fame) place where the Shed and now Court to Table reside? I recall it being Jamaican inspired or what ever....I thought it was good but I heard its failure started the cascade of the old Sammys downfall.

Creole Cabana. We actually used to go a lot for Saints games. They had a massive screen.

A common denominator on this thread is locations being near LSU. This is the worst part of town to operate in. Especially, with the years of Tate and JBE ruining the overall student body on campus. The Kiffin effect will kick in very shortly

that Gouter place
That was a nice place. But a horrible name. I think that did them in.
Gouter was so damn good. I like Rocca, but Gouter had a ton of variety on the menu. I thought the owner went crazy and closed shop due to some health issues.

From what I was told, I’m pretty sure a local coffee place bought it out. Maybe the City Roots people.
