Biggest flop, in my opinion, is Jay Decote’s Gov’t Taco.

Not necessarily flops but some old places I remeber
Anybody remember spinnakers on ben hur between highland and burbank under the water tower (close to fast track which was great too) circa 1990-93ish, we loved the place

The Bud's Broiler on Nicholson across from Tigerland was such a flop that is bankrupted the guy who owned the 24/7 Bud's on City Park Avenue and that's why it closed (and is still vacant to this day).

Along that line, Fairway View Bar and Grill. My dad was a regular there and spent many afternoons there as a kid playing pinball, lot of good memories there until burned down in 2006(?)

Went one time and it was so freaking expensive and terrible, and the menu was also extremely confusing

I liked that place.. The place was draped in deep, blood red velvet curtains.. They were incredibly dramatic and formal. It could have been in New York, LA, New Orleans or any other big city.. and New Year's Eve there was a blast. Wayne Stabiler was responsible for this gem.. It closed and something like Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's took its place.

To the flops, I'll add anything that's attempted to open after the tragedy in the former Calendar's location at 7520 Perkins Road.

It did and does well primarily due to it's Magazine St. location. If it opened in Metairie in 09', it would have been closed by 2012. Concept is good enough as were the margs, but that spot is perfect for tourist stability.
