No doubt. My family spent a ton of time there.

As far as the op goes, it’s really hard to say since there are Tex Mex joints all over the place. If anyone hasn’t been to blue corn yet, I recommend it. Great food and great drinks

Old Ninfa’s (Tio Javi’s) has really gotten their act together. Last couple meals we really enjoyed there

I usually go to El Rancho. The service at the one on Florida blvd seemed slow the last few times, so I've gone to the one in Denham Springs the last few times I've been.

I'm still a fan of the old Ninfa's, now Tio Javi's. Los Reyes on Coursey is pretty good too.

I think La Carreta and Superior are overrated and overpriced.

I should never have gone to places in Houston area, now BR Tex-Mex is all garbage.

Tienda Latina on Siegen (I think that’s the name), it’s in a little Mexican shopping center with a We Buy Gold place. Closest to “real” Mexican I found in Baton Rouge when I lived there.

Yes, I wasn't sure which restaurant to recommend. I like El Paso, Ahuua's is good, and JoVi's Tacos is okay.

The Tacos del Mosco taco truck on Airline across from Parkview Baptist is good. A little pricey, though. But it's just a truck. No seating.

I lived in Brownsville, TX for a few years ... so I go to Mexican restaurants and laugh.

ja! ja! ja!

El Tiempo on Richmond is awesome in Houston. Go every time I'm there.

For Baton Rouge, I like Los Reyes.

A couple of years ago the owner of Ruth’s chris bought it and put a lot of work into it. Not sure why he didn’t change the name to give it a fresh look but it’s definitely under new and able ownership now.

El Rio Grande gets my vote

Enchiladas con huevos are a greasy, delicious mess

And don’t forget the chocolate chimichanga for dessert
