Any ideas on where I can get a good small fruit cake in Baton Rouge?

Bergeron's just posted pics of a batch yesterday. I find it deplorable, but I feel like they would do a good job with it.

Baker Maid out of NOLA does good ones. Call them and see if they’re in any stores up there. Costco also does a good one, but haven’t seen it in stores yet. Heard the NOLA store isn’t doing them this year.

Try ordering from the Sisters of the Holy Family. These NOLA nuns baked a very good fruitcakes and great cookies.

How many of you have had a good fruitcake?

Warm slice, soaked in bourbon, toasted with butter and whipped cream out of the oven is delicious!

My grandmother died abt 7 yrs ago and I haven't had to eat fruit cake since then, thank fricking god!!!

I just watched a documentary on this place. Apparently, this place has been around for ever, and around Christmas the go from making about 10-15 a day to 1000 a day. It's been on a few lists for best fruit cake/bakery in the US.

That’s what my Dad used to do.

He had a method of pouring on the bourbon for like three days in a row to give it a good soaking.

I still didn’t like it.
