My years at LSU saw a precipitous drop... '87-91.

Just remember, being from LA does not qualify you to be the head coach of LSU.

I had a dumbass roommate in college who insisted LSU wouldn’t have a losing record in our lifetime. This was in 2008. I just laughed. The only gratification I’m getting from this bullshite is knowing I will probably be able to prove him wrong 13 years after the fact.

Which hire besides Orgeron gets us 2019? I was not in favor of O being hired, but he caught lightning in a bottle. With Herman or Fisher it is most likely that the last LSU championship is still 2007.

I was too young to remember Hodson and those mid 80s teams, but I well remember the late 80s and then the early 90s. I will never forget watching Florida destroy us at home and asking my dad why we were so bad. He said “son you’ll remember Curley Hallman for the rest of your days, it’s only gotta get better from here.” Pops was right. Thankfully I witnessed a much better program through the years since. Thankful for what O did with Burrow, Brady and company but it’s time to cut bait. You have to look forward to a fresh start and better days, right now things are about as bad as it gets. If the last two weeks are any indication, it’s obvious the team has quit. Keep ya head up ole boy, 2019 will live on forever LSU…..

Yes, don’t hire a moron - at any level.
They have a tendency to reproduce themselves.

As bad as this is, the 90s were even worse. Thankfully we had Skip Bertman and Dale Brown

We have too much support money and in state talent to be bad for very long, so don’t fret

LSU Football has played in four National Championship games since 2003.

LSU has won 3 NC since 2003.

LSU baseball has won 6 NC since 1990.

The Pear is about to explode.

Kim Mulkey will have LSU women’s basketball in multiple FF’s within three to six years.

Baseball is getting ready to be elite again.

A lot to get excited about !

Well youngin, back in my days the LSU football team was a right mess. Back then we could only afford a single player. That made things down right hard to win many games. Of course those Mississippi schools didn't even have enough money to pay a single player and had to use a cut rate one that was missing an arm or a leg. So we at least got a couple of wins in each year. Then again, we still did pretty good on defense. Couldn't afford a tiger cage back then. So Mike was just chained up to the goalpost. Nobody wanted to cross that goalline and face ole Mike. Now Georgia and Alabama would put up a lot of points, but they never did mind losing a player or two in order to get a win. Butcha know, we got through just like we always done, just like our pappies had done before us. We drank a metric shite ton of bourbon. Losses don't hurt as much when your eyeballs are floatin.

Been watching since the 60s and I've seen Good,Awesome2019, Bad, Ugly, and middle of the road. When it's ugly it's hard to endure. Over time you deal with it. When it's fresh on the mind it really sucks.

Season tickets since 1958...things come and go, swings up and down. This too will pass..we were a party school even in defeat. 10 game seasons with a possible bowl game, then it was on to other matters...hunting or fishing.

Watch replays of the three National championship games. I went 45 years without seeing one.

truthfully, when we didn't have so many expecations, it was pretty damn fun.
I found this to be true as well. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade the national championships for anything. But it became more about winning and less about having fun at the games, and it hasn't returned since.
I thought maybe it was just me.

the ncaa introducing the transfer portal where a player can transfer and play immediately even in the same league/division will be the demise of many programs that were able to recruit at a high level...like LSU
Add in the pay the player crap and now the teams with the biggest booster funds will dominate the recruiting.
Sorry you have to live thru this mess, but you can stick a fork in LSU unless some very major donors step up to buy players...that is what it will boil down to. LSU has nothing else to offer. No coaching, development, play for championships....nothing. Deep dark time ahead of us.

There is too much money at stake to let football sink into mediocrity. The people who run the show will spend big to make sure this does not happen.
