So Entergy is now claiming that most of EBR will have power by next Wednesday September 8th
And the other 49% will still be waiting?

Well looks like about 44% are out now so I damn sure hope not lol

Given the amount of shite down in the back part of the neighborhood and virtually no presence from Entergy in the area since the storm I’d say…not good
Plus it’s really random of who’s out and isn’t so, probably a random transformer that isn’t a priority. But who knows

Still no power in the Kenilworth area on Highland. Some with power, but most not. Not that it matters, but I haven’t seen a single power truck (Entergy or subcontractor) in the area this entire stretch.

Damn yall got me all excited.Everyone in woodland ridge and Camelot with demco has power except my street.

How’s Oak Hills looking?
Had power back for 14 hours yesterday (11pm to 1pm) and it went out again. I figured they might be doing some switching and it would be temporary... Nope. Entergy says a fuse blew and that the trouble is “cleared” but no estimates on timeframe. I even had packed all my stuff at my folks’ place and went back over there to have it never come back on. Frustrating to say the least.
There’s also still a downed power pole on west lakeview that no longer has a tree on it but hasn’t been touched. Hopefully things change soon.

The actual statement from Entergy:
quote:
East Baton Rouge Parish
Percentage of damage assessments complete: 80%
Area Notes: The vast majority of customers in the greater Baton Rouge area who can safely accept power will be restored by Wednesday, September 8. Three major hospitals have been restored including Our Lady of the Lake, Baton Rouge General and Ochsner. Baton Rouge Airport was also restored. Heavy vegetation and services in backyards continue to pose accessibility challenges for our crews.
So I would assume "vast majority" will mean more than 51%.

Awesome. I’m hoping I’m in that 75%, the online map must not be updated
I’m going home in a minute to check

Maybe they don’t have a realistic estimate yet. Just a thought.
That's a dumb thought. It's counter to what we know and counter to common sense.
They were working on a very major fix yesterday that ended up impacting a ton of people. There was zero communication.

Park Oaks off of Coursey looked like an apocalypse world last night. And Entergy says it could be 7 more days??? I think??
Posted on 9/2/21 at 8:30 am to Broke
I'm hearing some troubling stories of citizens attempting to hook their own power back up and rehooking the power lines without insulated gloves or any safety equipment. This is very dangerous!

Can’t really tell from my software.
Depending on where you are on your street, you could be powered from 2 different feeders from 2 different substations.
Both of those are energized and it’s a mixture of underground and overheard back lot design.
Chances are there is a damaged back lot overhead conductor.

Anyone know/have an update on how bad the damage really is at the Coursey Substation? That seems to be affecting a shite ton of customers.

Dude I’m basically in the middle dead zone, people to the right of us have power 2 houses down and beyond. Then past the stop sign they’ve all got it

Both transmission line sources that feed the station on Coursey (Weiner Sub) received structural damage.
