Didn't LaPlace get wrecked in 2012? I can't remember when that last major flood happened there.

Yeah I’ve posted about that about 2012 times today

Prairieville is rocking. Definitely the worst we’ve seen and getting worse by the minute. I’m about to barf.

Honestly I've felt that way all day. At one point I asked my gf if maybe I had Covid b/c I felt so fricking sick.
But it was nerves and anxiety.

It's still rocking our house here in Gonzales(Just east of Dutchtown on 74). Windows shaking and wind howling non stop. And being pitch black outside doesn't help at all.

Transmission lines going across property and ones tall enough to go across the largest river in the hemisphere are two different things.

shite can be rerouted, the whole countries electrical grid if connected in some way, they will figure something out quickly, even if it’s a temporary fix. That power plant isn’t that old, they can surely switch from other places

St. Tammany Parish
@STPGOV

Out of an abundance of caution, ALL of Tammany Utilities is under a Boil Water Advisory due to wide-spread power outages caused by Hurricane Ida. Due to Hurricane Ida, results of LDH water testing will likely be delayed.
We encourage all private utilities to do the same.

At this time, with this storm, is the worst part of the storm when it is southwest of you or when it is about 30 miles due west?

Getting hairy in central Hancock County. Warnings popping off every 15 minutes and wind and rain picking up.

Be careful in Washington Parish - all the severe thunderstorms are headed NW from here.

Just had a giant oak uprooted. That things been through every hurricane for last 75 years. Thank God it fell across the street and hit no house. One in back yard 5 feet from house still up, but I’m scared. Wind in Denham is scary. Blowing water in through my windows.
