frick off dumbass.
I'd be aggravated, like any normal human being.
I'd also not physically assaults the officer if he did try to enter my home, regardless if i thought he should be or not, which he shouldn't be, but that doesn't really matter. He's recording the incident, so can i, i've got nothign to hide. He wants to illegally search my home, be my guest. I know i'm not going to jail, or worse getting killed b/c i wanted to fight with a cop b/c i thought he was wrong.
what your reaction? physically not allow the cop to enter? let me know how that works out dumb frick.
You dumbasses acct like every cop is a dipshit and is out to get you. Try talking to them respectfully and you'll be surprised how many of them are normal human beings that aren't out to hunt you down. We got the cops called on us not too long ago at a party with a bunch of 40 year olds acting like college kids being loud. Very simple altercation we had with the cops where everyone was respectful, and they left after asking us to calm it down a bit, and no one was arrested miraculously.

quote:Yeah, I did not learn anything new from that video. He seemed to be resisting and they seemed to be trying to apprehend him. Was it excessive force? Cannot judge as the video starts after he is on the ground. Did he fight with them before? Who knows? I am sure more will come out.
What you see in the video isn’t bad for either party
Where did he assault the policeman?
Why were the policeman called there to begin with?
For Jaxson, where is the video of the policeman kneeling on his neck?
These are the things that will determine his future as a Pelican

I mean they appear to arrrst/detain the cameraman but California is definitely a state where recording an arrest is protected under the first amendment.
The cop obviously was being a dick about it but specifically was calling the guy out to back up, not to stop filming.

The cop literally grabbed the phone at the end.

The cops should have beat him like they do the kids on the wire

Threatening the person filming you from a safe distance is never a good look for a cop.

Hayes isn't resisting as three officers are pinning him down and contorting his body
A cop decides that asking for their badge number is worth shooting him with a taser point-blank to his chest
Friend clarifies that the cops tackled him for denying him entrance
Friend is understandably stressed and is told to back off or else he'll end up like Hayes
Several more police run in and scramble for the guy's phone
This is what I also saw from the video and agree with one the redditors who summarized it nicely. The guy had all the right to record and gets threatened that he would end up as Hayes and then gets attacked by the cops. I saw no cop that needed emergency help. However, I saw a woman there who was reportedly not cooperating with the cops.
I wait for the cops to see their POV, but it is not looking great at all for them.
Edit: The most important thing is what was the probable cause for the cops to barge inside the house without permission? Even if there was a dispute, the women would had let them in since she owns the house. However, you can clearly see her standing there.

I’m on the police side. Is it that hard to comply ? Do people know how tough it is being a policeman and having to deal with idiots all day ? Just comply. As far as the guy videotaping the cop threatened him because he’s in the way with his teenage girl phone habit. Get out the damn way and let the police do their job. Is it that hard to comply or are people just that dumb nowadays ?

Well maybe next time just listen .
They should have sent a social worker to the house if they knew he was in the NBA!!

Don't disagree with that at all only thing I would add is that the ones that approached the filmer were two cops that showed up from off camera it's possible they weren't aware fully what was going on and did something extreme?
Either way we should have better context in the up coming days.

You’re kidding right? The guy who is recording is in distress. He isn’t blocking any cops from what they are doing. When one of the officers told him to back up, he responded nicely and said okay. He turns around and gets ambushed by 2 cops.
I always respect the blue and thank them for their service. But sometimes, they do act above the law. There’s always bad seeds in every profession.

Seems like the cop didn't want his buddies being filmed

As i said, act respectful with your altercations with police and you will always come out smelling like roses no matter what.
bullshite. 90% of the times I've dealt with police they've been assholes to me. This has been after I was the victim of a hit and run, when I was a witness to a vehicular homicide, etc. Cops seem to always be on a power trip and think they're the smartest in the room when in actuality they have an IQ that hovers near room temperature.

I wonder what the opinion would be if Jaxson Hayes didn't play for the Pels. If he played for the Rockets, I'm sure the tone would be different. People will defend players on their favorite teams to the grave, and will trash other players on rival teams. I have no dog in the fight. I'm sure that Hayes did something stupid, cops got pissed off and probably got excessive. Neither party was in the right here; this is a lose-lose.

i've encountered plenty of assholes as well. never felt the urge to fight one of them like a dumbass. Stay respectful and let them act an arse. Those are the kind that are trying to bait you into something, and they are shitty cops. Be the bigger man. I was just a shite head teenager and had my car searched on two separate occasions after bull shite traffic stops, both done illegally, but i was the one that acted with respect and maturity. I had nothing to hide, and walked away from both altercations with the shite head cops without even a ticket. I was profiled b/c of the car i was driving.
