Good for him. I hope He stays in the nfl long enough to collect a pension.

Ultimate job: Career NFL backup
Collect a nice paycheck and rarely have to play and get hit

I mean, he was no Joe Burrow. However, considering the QB turmoil with Jefferson/Lee, Harris et al, it was nice to have a QB that had enough poise to manage the football in the limited scheme he had to operate in.
Don't remember who made the thread a couple of weeks ago but he may be one of the most under-appreciated players in LSU history.

Apparently Etling is a Patriots legend according to that Twitter thread.

Etling didn’t get all the accolades but he stepped in during a transitional period and helped stabilize the program. I’ll always appreciate the hell outta the guy

etling was a backup at purdue.
he was severely limited
what canada did with him was amazing considering his weaknesses and limitations.

Moscona said Harris was better than Etling.
Danny was a tough kid who played his heart out every game. Good for him I hope he can stay around a while.

Etling was a good qb during a rough time with little guidance.

After the revolving door of poor to average QB's with Mett being an outlier, he brought stability and efficiency to the QB position. The ultimate "game manager," I guess they still call them.
Hell, with Myles out and Max relatively unproven it'd be nice to have a Danny Etling right now.
