Looking for Parenting Tip

Daughter (14) snuck out of the house the other night to spend the night alone with two boys her age. This coming after she's been cutting herself, stealing from her siblings, vaping excessively, and lying to us the whole time (3+ years).
I am unbelievably pissed. Wife thinks I'm being too harsh and that we need to empathize so she doesn't do anything drastic to permanently harm herself.
Thoughts?

Is it wife or ex wife? I’m genuinely curious, this sounds identical to what a coworker is going through with his 14yr old daughter. She’s been in short term facilities and meds but nothing has worked

Yeah, she's had a rough life. Her biological father is a paranoid schizophrenic who's been in and out of prison and rehab her entire life.

Im going to pray for your family. I dont have any tips. Im omly 4 years into parenting. I dont know shite. But im gonna pray for you. I do know that helps
