How much would it cost?

Everything you love about Tigerland . . .

Everything past the bars is just a shooting range, if LSU doesnt do something its only a matter of time before a student gets killed or assaulted back there and then they'll have a bigger issue.

You don’t know how anything works.
Fwiw
I lived back there in 1999, my neighbor had a party and some guy walked up and pulled a gun and robbed everyone. Gaslite 4

The bar owners should just move out. Let the place rot. It already is

93 homicides for 2021.
In contrast, 2020 homicides in the same time period (7/23/2020) was 70.

The problems with that scenario are likely finding available land for new student dive bars and getting liquor licenses transferred to the new locations.
This ain’t the 90s when there were still bars in the shopping center just past the north gates of campus. All that shite is apartments now.

I actually do consider it my responsibility to prevent my neighborhood playground from turning into a place my kids might get shot. Thats basically what tigerland is to LSU.

The flip side is trying to purchase all the apartments behind the area. Those landlords aren't giving that up.

If I was rich I’d buy all those slums, kick everyone out, and bulldoze it all and just leave it. No more housing developments around LSU. We already have way too many which will end up like Tigerland.

While I agree, this is another casualty of Section 8. The landlords are getting free money, not doing any upkeep or vetting of tenants. As long as someone is in there, landlords getting paid. They have absolutely ZERO incentive to give that up.

I'm traveling from Spring , TX to Baton Roughe weekly until August for work.
I had some free time so I drove that area to see what it looked liked versus 02-06 when I was there. I lived in the normal places like University Commons , Tiger Plaza, and some other random places like most college kids.
It actually sadded me a bit, the old University Commons had broken down cars , busted windows, and renters who didn't look like students. No joke , the back part of Tigerland looked worse than 1960/Gulf Bank in Houston. There are people sleeping on mattresses , balconies starting to collapse, and people living out of shopping carts. It was 100% shocking and sad.

Slumlords riding that Section 8 gravy train.

LSU students were bound and executed in the edward gay apartments and not a damn thing was done about it.

Why is this an LSU issue? It's not on campus.
It's not a LSU sanctioned shooting event.
Personal responsibility is the key. Don't move into a war zone.

I know a former marine that is a slumlord in BR. He owns 1000’s of properties that are section 8. He’s told me before that he’s made attempts to renovate and make some properties better, but the tenants run off the contractors every time.
