The Ford F-150 Lightning has hit a new milestone of 100,000 reservations less than a month after its unveiling in May, the automaker confirmed to FOX Business.

This is up from the 70,000 sold by May 26 and touted by CEO Jim Farley.

Reservations for the all-electric pickup, which will officially open this fall, only require a $100 refundable deposit. Deliveries aren't scheduled to begin until the spring of 2022.

The full-size truck has a starting price of $39,974 (not including delivery fees) and qualifies for the full $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit. A fully-loaded Platinum trim luxury version is currently listed at an estimated price of $90,474.

The F-150 Lightning comes standard with all-wheel drive and a range of 230 miles per charge, while an extended-range version with a 300-mile rating will also be available. The 300-mile model is also the most powerful F-150 ever and can accelerate to 60 mph in roughly four and a half seconds, which puts it on par with the dual-motor Tesla Cybertruck that's scheduled to be on sale just before the F-150 Lightning.

I doubt that’s 100k individuals. That probably includes 50k work models for some corporations pretending to go green.

It will be just like every game put out these days for PC and consoles. Start it up the first time and BAM! 29gb update before you can use the damn thing.

The two edge sword of early adopters. They often take it on the chin but without them we would still be in the stone age.

Some of the C8 issues have been downright embarrassing. Obviously they get a pass on COVID issues like chips but some of the workmanship issues have been near laughable.

And it's nothing new. Early C3's were horrible in the first couple of years. You probably already know the first year for the C3 was supposed to be in '67. Credit GM for holding on the C2 for another year to work things out, but even with another year added, quality of parts and workmanship were still pretty bad.

Give me a full size plug in hybrid that can tow my boat. Give the the torque and the range. I doubt this thing would make it to the ramp with a boat from Baton Rouge.

One day we will hear about all the mechanical and electrical failures and what a disaster this project was and it will be followed by Kamala bailing out the Ford motor company so their unions don’t go broke

The 36 gallon tank gets like ~700 miles on a tank with a stock supercrew fx4. 300 is less than the smaller tank options.

Kinda interesting with the backdrop of the C8 that some of the problems almost certainly stemmed from R&D money and time "wasted" on making the C3 mid or rear-engined since Duntov, Mitchell, and Winchell wanted to go that route.
