True, the clashes between Bill Mitchell and Duntov were very heated at times. Both had very different ideas on the direction on where the Vette's future was headed. And, stuck in the middle of that tug of war was Larry Shinoda who had to work with both of them and their demands.
I always thought the C2 chassis had peaked by '66 and should have been retired then. The rear/mid engine concept battle played into continuing with it longer than it should have.

Ok, enough about that ancient history. Back to electro-trucks.

Who in their right mind would buy the first model year of a new Ford product.

I doubt that’s 100k individuals. That probably includes 50k work models for some corporations pretending to go green.

The other 50K are dealerships looking to sell for $10K or $20K premiums above MSRP.

Tesla is dropping the ball with it’s Cybertruck while Ford flexes it’s electric nuts.

The Model S Plaid is ridiculously fast. It’s fastest production car in the world. 0-60 in 1.99 seconds. I’d say their focus is just fine and they are appealing to their base. I have no doubt the Cybertruck will be one of the least impressive pickups of the models scheduled to come out. The Electric Hummer looks really badass.

Probably 50% of light-duty trucks have virgin balls on the back when they are traded in.

Hard pass for me.. considering you can't basically tow anything for any distance.. When towing the new Lightning can only travel less than 100 miles on a charge..

Their response is that people do not tow anything for more than 100 miles..

Here’s what I don’t get about these things. How are you supposed to travel? Just hope that you get where you’re going before the fricking thing dies?

What if you drive the full range of the vehicle but want to keep going, or need to keep going? How long do you have to sit there when you could just put it tank a gas in your regular F150 and be on your way?

They won’t sell if fake baws can’t fake brag about the towing capacity.

And about the only thing it has in common with a 2021 car is it has 4 tires.

Can ordinary people even preorder? I thought there laws that require the average Joe to pay premiums at the dealership.

The 36 gallon tank gets like ~700 miles on a tank with a stock supercrew fx4. 300 is less than the smaller tank options

More like < 600 miles at least that’s been my experience.

What's not to get? You use the tool that gets the job done. If you're going on the water, use a boat. If you need to go a long way fast, use a plane. If you need to drive a long way, use an ICE vehicle. If you want to save half your "fuel" costs driving around town, maybe use an EV.

Maybe ubiquitous fast charging stations will help, or maybe some will have to wait until battery swap stations are ubiquitous. Until those things happen, if you regularly leave a 100 mile radius of home, just don't get an EV.

Does that help?

Do you really not understand? It's really not that difficult, not sure what's so hard to grasp.

See if you follow me here... If your battery dies, your vehicle stops and can't continue to move forward or even backwards. Hope that helps.
