National gas price average just hit a 6 year peak
NYT doesn't give a shite because they don't have to
The only criticism they get will be from podcasts and conservative twitter, and the rest of the blue check mark MSM will either promote the lie or sit there quietly.

My brother works at one of the gas storage facilities. They have been at capacity for 12 months and are still full of stored gasoline.
The current issue is the transport from “gas storage facilities” to the pumps.

One of the most valuable lessons an educated person can learn in life is to immediately suspect universal claims, such as "there have been no" or "all people have", etc. Helps avoid being a gaslight victim.

I read this tweet as, "Since the shutdown, there should have been no long lines or major price hikes for gas."
Create artificial shortage, raise prices, profit?

Looks up to this:
You think he's even tall enough to reach the handle? Mingo's the real shortage here.

Thank you. The amount of people who can’t grasp this concept is mind baffling

Definitely less than it used to be but that doesn't make them any less of a liar

Just once, I would like to see one of our liberal friends on here explain how blatant lies by the media are good for our country.
Do you honestly think many "liberals" actually believe blatant lies are good for the country? I see left Twitter dragging the NYT almost daily on Twitter. They despise Maggie Haberman, one of their more prominent writers.

Media people are like politicians. They are a self-selecting group of horrid narcissists who will spin and distort whatever information they have to to gain or keep influence.

"if everyone people believes a lie, is it really a lie?"
no kidding, although I think the reality is even more sinister
NYT knows it is lying, a huge swath of America knows they're lying
NYT knows that when they force feed us a lie, they'll get backing from all the other media outlets, corporations, etc. - save for a handful of entities the rest can deem conspiratorial/crazy/extreme
They also know if you go to your office or a social gathering and start going "did you see the footage on NewsMax or Tucker Carlson showing all the long lines" people will look at you like you've got a second head. Not because they necessarily believe NYT or can't believe Tucker, but because they can't risk agreeing with you in our increasingly social-credit system.
In sum, I think this type of stuff is less about convincing you a lie is true, and more about putting an implied threat out there about calling out the lie. But to your point - if everyone goes along with the lie, is it really a lie? - is just as valid.

Left twitter despises Maggie Haberman for occasionally criticizing people on the left. I don't think that's the same thing as disowning blatant lies, baw

Devils advocate:
All MSM related information is presented as editoral/opinion pieces. It essentially gives them free reign to put out whatever info they want, as baseless as possible.
All networks do this. Networks overseas do this as well.
Media died with Dan Rather (yeah he's still alive, still).

I filled up at Costco this morning with zero wait and paid $2.59 per gallon. Will the hysteria create a shortage like it did for toilet paper last year??? Probably.
