I've seen a couple of ya'll already have Toy Story 3 ahead a 2. Do ya'll really think that? I don't think it's even close. All 3 are good but imo it's:

Toy Story
Toy Story 2

Toy Story 3

I think the vast majority of people agree that 3 is the best. Maybe some discussion about 1 vs 3, but most agree 2 is 3rd.

Reasons I put 3 over 2:

1) Lotso is a fantastic villain and clearly the best antagonist in the Toy Story series and only second to Syndrome as the best villain Pixar has produced.
2) The Incinerator Scene
3) The very end, which they fricked up a bit by simply making Toy Story 4.

If you’re over the age of 16, then you’re quite frankly just stupid if you think that. It’s like saying that Larry the Cable Guy is a better stand up comic than George Carlin whose stand up is poetry, and it’s definitely comparable given Larry is in the movie. There is not a wasted frame in WALL-E while Cars often wallows to the lowest common denominator.

Ranking them is kinda tough. I've always just sort of put them in tiers. And this is keeping in mind that I really liked all of Pixar's movies and even their "misses" (for me personally) are incredibly good movies. So this ranking is purely Pixar compared to themselves rather than actual quality of the movie (of which they are all really good):

Top tier:
Toy Story 3
A Bug's Life
Monsters, Inc.
Finding Nemo
Incredibles
WALL-E
Inside Out
Coco

Middle tier:
Toy Story
Toy Story 2
Cars
Up
Monsters University
Incredibles 2
Toy Story 4
Onward

Bottom tier:
Brave
Soul
Cars 2
Cars 3
Ratatouille
The Good Dinosaur
Finding Dory

So based on those tiers, if I had to rank them 1-10 let's say:

1. WALL-E
2. Monsters, Inc.
3. Finding Nemo
4. Inside Out
5. Coco
6. Incredibles
7. Toy Story 3
8. A Bug's Life
9. Monsters University
10. Cars

But honestly, after my favorite (WALL-E), there's really no correct order for me and it depends on how I feel. I suspect my list will differ from most though, due to things like I think ABL is vastly underrated and I love it, I think Ratatouille is vastly overrated and I have it in my bottom tier, I don't love the Toy Story movies as much as everybody else, I liked Cars more than most, etc.

Did you miss this part:

Toy Story just didn't resonate with me like it did with everyone else for whatever reasons. And like I said, I absolutely love Toy Story and think it's great. It's middle tier position is more of a testament to Pixar's quality rather than its own as a movie. And Ratatouille is just one that I didn't care for (again, comparatively to other Pixar movies). I liked it a lot. But it was low tier for me.

I also think that people should have to literally rank individual movies in here. Ranking franchises/sequels together basically waters down the entire list. I mean, more than 1/6 of Pixar's movies have been Toy Stories.

Also, I'll echo what a lot of people have said about Up. It's a great movie, sure. But it's overly ridiculous to me. While there are some great scenes in it (opening montage scenes, end scene with Russell's badge, Carl reading the rest of Ellie's book, etc.), there are also some that are so overly silly to me that I can't take them seriously (the house flying around, dogs talking and flying airplanes, most scenes with Kevin, etc.). Up is pretty highly overrated IMO. Also, most people seem to view Carl and Ellie as a sad thing, and I am the complete opposite. While it is obviously sad that she is sterile, they still managed to live a very full life together with each other, and like she said, he gave her the best adventure she could ever ask for. To live that long with your wife by your side is an awesome thing.

I was either 8 or 9 when it came out. It was fricking awesome. The fact that I can watch it today with my 7 year old and enjoy it just as much helps.

Ratatouille is at the bottom of my top 10 so I'm not saying it holds up to the very best, but I find it way better than anything I would consider to be bottom tier like Cars 2, Good Dinosaur, Soul, or Finding Dory. And I think Brave and Cars 3 are WAY underrated films because of timing (Brave) and its predecessors (Cars 3).

I agree completely. There's no reason you can't split out the movies and let them stand on their own.

Up's first 15 minutes are great for adults. Up's last half is great for kids. I agree that the Acts feel like different movies based on feel and tone. But I think it's a small miss compared to the rest of the movie. Very original, great characters, the lessons and story. All of those are top notch for me which make up for the silliness of the final 2 Acts.

It's gut wrenching to watch when you've gone through it or know someone who has. There are lots of sad feelings associated with it and what people relate to will often be the worst moments. But I agree it has a very positive message/lesson that Carl learns. It's his story after all.

Am I the only one who would have Bug’s Life in the top 6-7? That film just doesn’t get a lot of respect.

odd stance since some of their sequels are just as good or better than the originals.

The city scene in Bug's Life may be my favorite scene out of all of the Pixar movies. I can't explain why.

I can't really explain it, but I've watched Ratatouille probably a hundred times and it never gets old for me. Watching them cook is still almost as mesmerizing now as it was when I saw the trailer for it. The attention to detail is great, the passion they put into showing the workings of the kitchen, the music - my god the music is great.

And I thought Peter O'Toole deserved an Oscar for his portrayal of Anton Ego. If Beatrice Strait can win for a monologue, he should have for that final one as well. Just about the most amazing take on art and criticism you could ever expect to find in any movie, let alone an animated one for children.

Kind of feel like counting the sequels isn't fair to the other films, including the originals. Toy Story 3 has a strong emotional ending, but that nostalgia wouldn't exist without the original.
