Where to live in New Orleans for a young professional?

I know this has the potential to turn into a shite-show of a thread, but if I get a couple of legit replies that's OK.
My daughter (no pics) is graduating law school and moving to New Orleans. I'm not real comfortable with it, TBH, but she made her decision.
I'm going to help her find a place to live and get situated and obviously want to find the safest place.
I prefer a nice gated high-rise, but she prefers renting a house, possibly in Lakeview. She will have a roommate, so at least a 2BR/2BA. They can afford something nice.
Thoughts?

I have an available room. What is her preferred method of payment?

Tell her to sleep with a mattress on the floor.

Madisonville, Mandeville, or Covington.

where's she working (geographically)?

the safest place would be to not be in New Orleans.

Lakeview is probably her best option from a safety standpoint. Uptown and less so Midcity have more entertainment options for someone her age but everything is a pretty short drive/Uber away.

NOWHERE East of Old Metairie.

Warehouse District Condo would be my first choice
If she wants to rent a house Lakeview, but not many 2 bedrooms around there.
Uptown is where it’s at, but be prepared for high rents

Boundaries of St Charles, Magazine, Napoleon and Audubon Park.

Your best option is to talk her out of moving to New Orleans. Sincerely, an individual who drives into New Orleans for work 5 days a week.

If not that, then Uptown.
Not Lakeview, that's a place for families who want a New Orleans zip code, but a Metairie lifestyle.

Prytania St, West of Napoleon. I can’t remember exactly where the private police patrol....west of Louisiana or Jackson?
Camp St is nice.

Lakeview is honestly your best bet. It’s basically all upper middle class families and the occasional young professional renting. Very safe, at least by NOLA standards. I’ve walked it at night multiple times and have always felt comfortable. Cops always seem to be patrolling as well, I guess because it’s more well to do. You can also get a decent amount of bang for your buck space wise and the house isn’t going to be a 50/60 year old piece of shite.
Honestly, feels like the suburbs of any major city and not like your 15 minutes from the Quarter. Pretty much another world.

They’ll be bored in Lakeview - mostly families and not much to offer in terms of nightlife. If they are looking for a place with lots to do within walking distance, try one of the apt complexes in the warehouse district. Lots of rental houses uptown near the colleges as well.
