Cops always seem to be patrolling as well, I guess because it’s more well to do.
More well to do than what? Surely not Uptown

Most of the 20-30 year olds I work with that are single live in Lakeview or around Carrollton/St. Charles/Oak St area.

She just needs to watch herself like any major city now a days.

Where did you see that she has an office to report to? Maybe she just wants to move to New Orleans?

I lived in Carrollton next to Panola St Cafe as a young professional. Had one side of a shotgun. Safe is a relative term in that city. I considered my street somewhat safe. We didn't have a lot of homicides, but I also didn't walk down the street without looking over my shoulder every so often, especially at night. Muggings of Tulane kids in our neighborhood was pretty common. My next door neighbors were once forced inside, tied up, and then robbed. They also sold drugs, so who knows.

If she's working in the CBD and you can afford it, you want the golden rectangle from the garden district to uptown. Lakeview is out of the way.

Despite the proliferation of condos in the CBD in both new buildings and retrofitted ones, the CBD is not a good place to be at night.

That's quite the qualifier.

Uhhhh. The majority of New Orleans haha? Although it’s obviously not the only part of the city where they have some wealthy folks.

I'm moving there soon too. Warehouse District.

Sounds like she would be the perfect roommate.

Hit me up!

Old Metairie (the real one, not the extended version the OT refers to)

Warehouse district would be my #1 choice. Depending on where she's working ,it may even be walking distance

Lakeview would be my #2 choice, followed by Mid-City.

I do not know the ins and outs as well as I used to, but along with any gated communities you should check for the ones with HOAs that pay for security patrols.

I guess my point was that it's not any more "well to do" than any of the other "safe" neighborhoods that a young professional would want to live in.

It's basically an extension of Metairie.

They’ll be bored in Lakeview, mostly families and not much to offer in terms of nightlife.
Yeah, but if she owns a horse she can ride to the entertainment areas in little more than half a day. She can stay at an inn and be home the next evening.

I live in Lakeview very close to Harrison. Police presence is excellent, but of course we have the occasional problem with idiots pulling on car door handles, once every few months or so. I can walk to pretty much anything... bank, grocery store, post office, drug store, restaurants, bars, etc. There's plenty to do, and it is pretty safe. House next to me is for sale, and looks like it'll be on the market for rent pretty soon. Probably 4 bedrooms, one house off Harrison. Send me a message if you'd like to reach out to them.

Mandeville or Old Metairie

NOLA is bad all over. Lakeview is experiencing high crime and car jackings. Pay extra tax for police in Lakeview and never see any police presence in Lakeview.
