So you didn't ignore 0/10 3rd downs?
I didn’t.
I systematically showed you why that’s irrelevant.
Did we have more drives stall against Missouri? NO. We had less
Did we score less TD against Missouri? No. We scored more.
Did we kick more FG against Missouri? NO we kicked 3 in both games.
Did we have more more Turnovers against Missouri? NO we had 0 TO in both games.
What’s the difference in a 40 yard drive where you go 4/5 on 3rd down and punt and a drive were you go 40 yards and 0/1 on 3rd down.

Better arm Brees or Joe Flacco?

And more drives stalled when Johnson was QB against Florida. FACT
Sacks and untimely sacks seemed to be less frequent
Time of possession seemed to sway in favor of LSU
We have a tendency to look at the QB's and even the offense in a bubble. When really a qb's performance and tendencies have an effect on the team as a whole. This is why the competition is closer than a lot give it credit for and why many think Johnson has a legitimate shot given some game time experience and a new offense that everyone must learn
Btw, to beat bama, you at the very least have to have an efficiently mobile qb, and you really need a running qb unless they can sling it like god burrow

When I present A ton of facts and opposing counsel takes a personal shot, yeah I am fricking awesome.
Well here is a fact for you. Coach Orgeron was so pissed off at Finley's poor play at A&M that he benched his arse and Finley never played another down after that point.
Fact #2: LSU won the last 2 games with Max at QB. LSU looked better under Max than they did under Finley at any point.
Fact #3: Max took the 1st team snaps in Spring because Orgeron felt he earned it. It does not appear that Finley has done much to increase his stock on the team.
Fact #4: Finley is going to be the odd man out in the QB race based on talent. There is no way Finley can outplay all of the other QBs. He simply is not good enough.

This is fact if you mean he didn't play another down in the A&M game. He did start vs Bama the next week though.

Maybe there'll be a way to utilize their combined strengths together in the backfield.
No
Or enjoy your 4 losses

Except the Alabama game where he outplayed Johnson.

This is literally an opinion.
And my point isn’t even that Johnson didn’t look better last year, I’m just saying people are being shorty and writing Finley off as not having the stuff because he looked bad against better defenses than Johnson or Brennan played.

I wonder why TJ wasn't in the OP?
Posted on 4/8/21 at 6:51 pm to LNCHBOX
You’re using a team stat to knock Brennan’s 3rd down% which is completely misleading. A lot of those 3rd down plays were runs we didn’t convert and we also had 2-3 where Brennan completed the throw just short of the sticks then we went for it on 4th and got it. Brennan’s actual 3rd down conversion percentage individually was higher than the teams overall during those games.

I mean if we are solely going on arm strength TJ should start.
Dude has a rocket
Sorry I don't agree, based on the practice videos I've seen this year. Some of his rocket passes end up like Space X experiments. He's good but not near Brennan's passing ability.

TJ Finley is not an SEC QB
you can't judge this based off a true frosh season during Covid

Brennan's throw? That's where it's supposed to be. Max's throw gets knocked down or intercepted by the safety in a game. It looks fine against grass, but it was not a great throw.

Agreed. TJ can learn everything he’s lacking. The tools he does have are unteachable. After SC, he was considered the future.
Max succeeded where TJ didn’t for one simple reason; he was more ready to manage an offense at a high level. Not surprising considering he was raised by a pro bowl nfl QB.

Was the running game better simply because of Johnson or had the offensive line gelled a little better as they got reps under their belt?

Judging a QB w/o someone across from them trying to kill them is leaves much to be desired.
Also the threat of the QB tucking and running opens up a lot of things. Not saying he needs to be Mike Vick but just good enough to be worried about. Running was the most underrated thing Burrow did.

Agree with you. I was just pointing out to the 1st page that the throws were equal in length if not slightly in Max’s favor.
Now whose throw took less effort/who can throw it further...is a whole different discussion. (I’d put my $ on Brennan)
