And played significantly worse defenses.

I’ll put it this way, for all the “it factor” talk with Max, which games do we win if he starts all season that we lost?

LSU has never in it’s history had so much talent at QB at any one time.

I just wish they were all either right handed or left handed.

It absolutely takes more than a "game manager" to run Brady or Peetz offense.

Brennans throw looks like its about 40 yards further than Maxs.

I’d look again at the yard maker where the receivers actually caught each throw. Max’s throw was a yard or two further down the field. Myles throw was faster, tighter and lower. Not breaking news that MB has the better arm but if that’s all that mattered, TJ would be the day one starter. Max is the better overall QB IMO.

I think Brennan is going to do well in the NFL.

For the downvoters who don’t agree with my “pick 6” comment about TJ Finley. Click the link.

Coach O got in TJ's face after that pick-6 yelling at him like he did EVERYTHING he was not supposed to after being told 3-4 times a week in QB-football school. I think the primary message is "step the fvck up in the pocket". Sure, Rosenthal got beat on that play but the interior lineman carved out a nice pocket for TJ to step into. He didn't step into the pocket and instead stepped backwards. Note to young QB's, defensive lineman may be slow but they can run faster than you running forward than you can run backwards. So step the frick up in the pocket to avoid getting sacked from the edges.

Yep. Floating is not good. But Max appears to have a better field presence when running the offense. They all have their weaknesses and strengths.

Well if A&M was a good defense the only QB who led a scoring drive was Max Johnson in the 4th Quarter after Finley was benched.

Arkansas had a terrible Defense and the winning TD by Finley was a terrible pass which was behind the receiver who made a great catch of a poorly thrown Finley pass.

You calling the Florida Defense poor is self serving at best. Truthfully, LSU would have lost both games vs Florida and Ole Miss had Finley played.

Calling Auburn a good defense is also questionable as the Aubies finished 6-4.

How and why any of you want to glorify TJ Finley after his showing in 5 (half) of the games last season is beyond me.

Finally regarding Boutte “going off” in the last 2 games, well he had a QB who could get him the damn ball. If Finley was the best QB for LSU then I would acknowledge that fact. However, to penalize other QBs just to attempt to and hope TJ gets better is ridiculous. Finley is too slow of foot and too slow to process information and as a result cost LSU the ballgame at A&M. Period.

Max is by far the better QB. If you think A&M was so good then why was the only TD drive by LSU led by Max Johnson in the 4th Qtr. after TJ Finley was benched? Finley is another Brandon Harris except slower.

Max’s Drives vs A&M

Drive 1: 4:36 3rd Down 20
6 plays -4 yards punt

Drive 2: 14:02 4th Down 20
5 plays 9 yards punt

Drive 3: 9:38 4th Down 20
3 plays 6 yards punt

Drive 4: 4:38 4th Down 20
14 plays 81 yards TD leaves 38 seconds on the clock

That is a junk time TD drive against a defense just trying to let us run out the clock.

When A&M was trying he looked just as bad.

My point is that Finley should be glorified.

It’s that people shouldn’t bury the guy because he didn’t look as good against Alabama and Auburn as Max did against Ole Miss, the statistically worst defense we played all year.

See below.

If Max is so good why did his first 3 drives net 11 yards?

How do you say something like this when he went into the Swamp and won?

Doubt we beat State because the defense lost that game. Almost assuredly beat Mizzou. Probably beat A&M. Not winning Auburn and Bama games.

U duck! That pass was for all intensive purposes out of bounds. Its supposed to hit in the before the shaded line area that's what its for. Look at the hash #s clown.

It’s called the Shoe game for a reason

Also, Trask looking like hot garbage helped as well.

Johnson threw for 3 TDs and lead the offense to 37. And even with the shoe incident, he still had to get us in position to win.

Downplaying what he did as a freshman in the swamp is just classic you though.

Brennan shredded Missouri. In your head your thinking “Johnson would have scored on the 1” but you’re assuming he gets us to the 1. That Missouri game Brennen has 4 TDS to 0 Int and 430 yards passing. While completing 60% of his passes, and Missouri’s defense is closer to Florida’s than Ole Miss’s.

If they play prevent mill the clock defense the entire game. When A&M was trying Max’s first 3 drives went for 11 yards.

Actually I'm assuming Johnson could convert a single 3rd down that day because of his mobility.

Neat, if he had taken all first team reps that week and been the starter all game, it likely goes better. The defense had us in position to win that game and we did nothing on offense with Finley. And don't think for a second Jimbo wasn't trying to shut us out. They weren't playing prevent.

You and that downvote button. What the equivalent in court for when you don't like when the opposing counsel is running circles around you?

Either you are related to TJ Finley or you have an agenda with your love for Finley. Finley is probably #3 at QB only because Nussmeyer is a true Freshman. Next year with Walker Howard coming in Finley will be behind him as well. Finley is simply not as good as the other QBs. Hell the video of the QBs footwork was as concerning as any video I have seen. Finley was slow and awkward. I have seen him in 5 games of game action and he was simply not good enough to compete at the top SEC level.

Sorry that it disappoints you that Max Johnson outplayed Finley but I want to win and not play politics with LSU Football.
