I always thought that building was the biggest eyesore on a beautiful campus. Kind of like the Montparnasse Tower in Paris. The best thing about it is the view from out of the window. You can see everything else, but you can't see it.

I thought they were going to tear down Kirby Smith a decade ago. But it’s still sitting there like some giant, unwanted housing project.

they should have done this before all the new dorms were built.

They've done some renovations because they were using it for office space for awhile on some floors especially after Katrina

I never did like that building, either. There was always something "off" about the atmosphere in there. I can't put my finger on the exact description of it; it just felt depressing in there.

It's why I chose it
Stayed there for Boys' State in 1983, took meals at that dining hall.

While I couldn't wait to get out and move to an apartment, I wouldn't trade my year there for anything.
We used to piss in empty dip cans and freeze them. Then we'd pop out the newly-formed "piss puck" and slide it under people's doors on the 11th and 9th floor.
So if anyone here in the late 90's ever woke up to a mysterious puddle of piss just inside the main door of their room, my bad.
