Monroe Civic Center
1972
The James Gang
I'd just got my DL and it was my first car date.
Teen hormones running wild looking forward to the big day.
Disappointment ran rampant for everyone involved after the concert was over.
This would not be the last time.

August 3rd, 1986 Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA

Ozzy and Metallica. Got two picks (one from Kirk Hammett and one from Phil Sousan). Hetfield had broken his arm so was only singing. John Marshall of Metal Church was playing his parts from off stage. It was also Cliff Burton's last North American show before they left for Europe. I was right in front of Jake E. Lee and think Ozzy hit me at least 3 times with water.

This concert was released on the Master of Puppets (Remastered Deluxe Box Set).

What would y’all consider a “concert”? I grew up going to local festivals and benefits with live music, so at what point does it become a “real” concert?

I would say any musical performance given before a public audience qualifies.

RATT, Britney Fox, Kix, Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport. Reach for the Sky Tour 1989. Pure unadulterated insanity.

Bachman Turner Overdrive played the little hippie college in my hometown. Mid teens, surely high on mexican rag weed.
