The U.S. Supreme Court issued an injunction late Wednesday blocking New York’s governor from enforcing 10- and 25-person occupancy limits on religious institutions, granting a request from the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and Agudath Israel.

The court apparently divided 5-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Stephen Breyer Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan dissenting.

In an unsigned majority opinion, the court said the restrictions would violate religious freedom and are not neutral because they “single out houses of worship for especially harsh treatment.”

Shocker. Not.

What kind of sick person would try to limit someone’s ability to worship God? I am incredibly grateful for my faith and the ability to practice religious freedom. No one’s taking that away from me.

NEW: Supreme Court on 5-4 vote blocks NY Gov. Cuomo from reimposing strict capacity caps on Catholic churches and synagogues that sued. Barrett joins conservative wing in majority; Roberts joins liberals in dissent.

Free at last!!!

Can you imagine the coverage from the MSM if a Republican mayor of NYC was going after Jews the way Deblasio is?

Instead, relatively little, because he has the D after his name as a shield.

How many of the Democratic justices would have voted FOR assembly, if it pertains to "injustice" causes?

Religious folk can now celebrate Thanksgiving like the original settlers did with the Indians; gather together and spread disease.

There is absolutely nothing appropriate about forcing churches to withhold worship. Whether it’s a virus or our country is under siege from the rest of the world attacking us. If the church itself wants to close down that’s one thing, absolutely no way govt should be able to force it.

Some of those restrictions were egregious violations of constitutional rights. They needed to be overturned.

I’m not even religious.

I’m very disturbed by the recent trend of authoritarian politicians claiming to be liberals. You can’t be a liberal if you want to shut down people’s livelihoods and eliminate constitutional rights.
