I have a Chihuahua/Dachshund (which you spelled wrong) mix and a Corgis mix. My chihuahua mix is extremely protective. He is my ride or die. My corgis (she has some terrier in her as well) and she is sweet, but active.

I wish I could put her in some type of contest because she has an insane vertical when she jumps.

FWIW

I had a black and tan dachshund. Good house dog. Very independent. Very territorial. Will love you to death. You have to show him who is the alpha dog (you) every once in a while.

My daughter has a long hair dachshund and he is adorable but he can be a shitass too. But then again, I am not his master. Very playful dog.

My uncle had Corgis and he loved em. They seemed to be very good house dogs also. He always said they were very smart.

Corgis are herding dogs, likes an Aussie on Basset Hound legs. They are smart and energetic. Should be good with kids. I think with all herding dogs, you will typically get a very intelligent animal that you will need to invest time in to socialize and to train, but they learn very quickly and make great companions.

Dauschunds were bred to hunt badgers. Remember that

What’s the advantage of getting a goldendoodle instead of a golden retriever for that price? Genuine question. Just shedding?

The shedding is a big sell. I mean You can get a cheap Golden for sure, but you’ll can into breeding problems. I think I swallow about 8 golden hairs a day.

Also there are smaller Golden doodles if they mix with something other than a standard poodle. Which seems to be what he’s looking for.

There are both Goldendoodle and Regular Golden Rescues that are great.

Most of these dogs aren’t bad dogs, but people don’t know what they’re getting into or have a significant change in circumstances.

Currently have a dachshund (mini). Loyal, barked a lot (when younger), kinda clingy, loves kids, bad breath (older now), loves to snuggle, good with other dogs that reside with him, good with other dogs but just likes to bark.

Had a dachshund. He was an a-hole. Hated kids. I loved that dog.

I have a Corgi now. They are the friendliest and happiest dogs i ever owned and seen. That being said be prepared to sweep up enough hair to make a new corgi dog on a weekly basis.

Pugs ugly dog never owned one.

Dauschunds are fricking awful. Corgi’s are fricking awesome. I don’t know much about pugs, other than them being ugly AF when they’re no longer puppies.

My sister in law had a dauschund and it was a nightmare. Amazing dog in most every single way, but it never stopped barking. By the time my brother had kids, even his wife was ready for the dog to die, and she absolutely loved him. She’s still sad he’s gone, but happy nonetheless.

I own a corgi and can say they’re awesome. He gives amazing side eye and has a ton of attitude, but in a charming way. Their downfall... they shed quite a bit. It’s sort of fun pulling out their fur when they’re in shed-mode though.

Despite my negative experiences with Dachshunds, my daughter-in-law and son have a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, and it is an absolutely great dog.
