What about the Landcruiser? Those old school Landcruisers have a strong cult following as well but I guess the new ones are priced to the point that if you can afford one, you are immune to hatred. I actually think a modified Landcruiser with a lift, tires, and a little engine/exhaust work would be a bad arse ride but unless you are obscenely loaded, that is a unicorn.
If you have mechanical abilities, they are not so far fetched.

you mean the 4.2L right?
j/k... had the 4.2L in a CJ-7, swapped for a AMC360.
also had the 4.0 in a TJ...

Competition is good. Jeep was using their Chrysler minivan motor and was forced to change. Fanboys tried to call it something else, but we all knew better.

I had a 2014 Jeep with that 3.6 pentastar in it. It is a widely used engine. If I were buying a new jeep today, it would be a diesel. I would also want to use it like a jeep, not just daily drive it which is why I got rid of my first one. If I can't rock crawl it on the weekends, i'm out. (South Louisiana doesn't have rocks lol)

Looks like a Fisher Price creation.

Local dealer here had a two door model, looked pretty basic, asking $98,500. Assuming your neighbor ordered his and paid MSRP…really hope no one is actually paying $98,500 for one of these.
The guy here is the General Manager of a dealership.

I am sure I will get hate for this, I would buy the 4xe. It uses the 2.0 turbo plus a ~35 mile plug in hybrid system. You can use these 35 miles at will and while breaking, it does recharge the battery.
The 2.0 engine has proven itself and is quick.
Ford just discontinued the Powerstroke in the F150. So you need a 250 or higher to get it. Jeep could do the same with the Ecodiesel in the Wrangler as well.

Makes sense since that particular Bronco is a soft top. The Soft Tops are relegated to dealers only at the moment.

Anyone still hating on hybrid and/or small displacement turbo technology is an ignoramus.

I don't think they would. They move a lot of Rams with that motor. It is too good of an option for the Jeep. And the 4XE seems ok, but I'm the type that likes simplicity.

That’s a Bronco Sport. Not even the same vehicle being discussed. Those have been out since Nov 2020 and are basically a dressed up Ford Escape for the soccer moms. Totally different platform and underpinnings than the Bronco’s that finally started getting delivered a cpl weeks ago.

My point remains the same. That version of the Bronco, which is the one I've seen the most, looks like a Ford Flex.

There’s already videos of Jeep’s winching Broncos out. Don’t get me wrong. The née Broncos look good but look at blogs. Lots of shite breaking already. I’d wait for third year if that’s how you want to roll.

why on earth did Ford put the Bronco name on the Sport edition?

Well, soooo the hell what!? The Bronco Sport competes with the fugly jeep Cherokee. Anything is an improvement over the Jeep.
Jeep fan boys make me laugh!
