LSU landed a commitment from four-star edge rusher Jesse Harrold on Saturday afternoon.

The 6-5, 220-pound prospect from Tampa, Fla., chose the Tigers over Texas A&M, UCF, Auburn, Miami, and many other schools.

Harold is rated the No. 15 edge rusher in the country and the No. 14 overall player from Florida for the class of 2025, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

His verbal pledge gives LSU 13 commitments for the class of 2025.

Committing to a big brand like LSU increase the chase for the recruit. Increased chase results in increased NIL opportunities. Heart loyalty become financial loyalty. I do believe the school the kids first commit to are, usually, the schools they want to attend. Money can change that.
Committed means, I am seriously considering, nowadays.

Now this is a decision I can respect.

I learned long ago to not hold your breath on any kid committing. These days, they could commit, sign, and still leave. It’s a mess.

Okay, well stop following it? Like i told the other guy, start watching at the beginning of the season.

Still far better to have the commitment than not at all.

I wonder how many “commitments” are designed to artificially inflate subsequent offers from other schools? I’m “happy” but I could also be “persuaded.”

It’s a shame fans can’t be excited about future tigers anymore. Even if they commit the portal is only the end of the next season away also. It’s all so... transactional now.

Stop following recruiting and just show up at the start of the season. Some of yall are soft as charmin, if this breaks you down so much.

If you really followed recruiting, you'd know very few commits are transactional.

I try not to get too excited with all of this “please respect my decision” decommitting bullshite that seems ever so popular these days. Once these kids get on campus and suit up, that’s when I get excited.

Keep em coming. We know our funnel needs to be 4x larger than our actual need.

Look, just keep it to yourself if that's your stance. Let everybody else get excited for a commit. I swear i can tell the ones that were never invited to anything by the posts they make.
