re: Anybody else doing ‘wisdom of the crowd’ algorithms with Twitter to make money? - CFDoc
I like Zed Shaw better than code academy for beginners. As you start to get the hang of the language, the Mark Lutz books are good references. There's also just the straight docs on the python website. Also can't forget everybody's favorite, stackoverflow.com...

re: Anybody else doing ‘wisdom of the crowd’ algorithms with Twitter to make money? - CFDoc
You have any other object oriented programming experience or is this a ‘start from scratch?’ Zed Shaw Learn Python the Hard Way is a good read if you’re starting from nothing. Other recommendations will depend on your experience....

I also read a few articles from investment firms using these analyses daily to identify ‘Golden crosses’ before eve...

Anybody else doing ‘wisdom of the crowd’ algorithms with Twitter to make money? - CFDoc
So I’ve been reading a lot of the technical papers on the research groups using the Twitter API and sentiment algorithms to bet on sports based on wisdom of the crowd theory: https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~nasmith/papers/sinha+dyer+gimpel+smith.mlsa13.pdf So far, I have set up some python libraries that...

re: Is the Honda Ridgeline a good truck? - CFDoc
I had a ridgeline for almost 9 years. Put 250K miles on it. Towed a 19.5 foot Triton bass boat as far as Badin, North Carolina....twice. Towed the same Triton to Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Dulac, Lake Hartwell, Santee Cooper, Lake Norman, Lake Keowee on many occasions. Never had a single...
Many futurists have concluded that human labor will be so unnecessary in so many sectors that a living wage for all will be the only way to stave off mass rioting.
Be wary of buying into too much about AI and what it will be capable of in 20 years. I work in big data analytics and ...

re: What are some career paths you would recommend to people starting college? - CFDoc
Engineering is solid these days. If you see yourself being more of a manager, just do an undergrad and work your way up through the management levels. If you get in and actually enjoy the technical side of it, go get a M.S. or PhD. The opportunities these days for technical fields are plenty....
