It is very concerning the LDH doesnt publicly backdate the positive results to the date of testing.....

It doesn't make any sense. It makes it look like an uptick when it really happened a month ago or whatever

"Cases" has never been a meaningful stat, and no one should pay any attention to it. Hospitalizations and deaths are much more relevant.

How many posters on here either directly know someone (friend, family, business acquaintances, etc) who has died, or know someone who knows someone who has died?

I know two - one direct, one by association.

A former co-worker and a friend's father

Why can't bars reopen in phase one? Edwards says "Because the atmosphere of a bar is such that it is very conducive to the spread of the virus.

Let's throw out the idea that all bars are like a dance club, Texas Club, or a frat bar.

Where I generally go, we sit on barstools, watch sports, and stand around a table and talk.
How is that such a bad thing compared to a restaurant or being in a crowded Walmart?

Just looked up Pointe Coupee. We jumped up 26 new cases in one day. WTF?

Date-corrected tests/cases and deaths are meaningful. It would show when the peak actually occured.

But the LDH graph for symptom start has a very odd weekly cycle to it. Like clockwork, nobody has symptoms starting on a Tuesday or Wednesday,

Exactly. The only difference between the bar I hang out and a bar & grill would be that one has food on the tables and one doesn't. As long as people are social distancing and the establishment is at 25% capacity, it doesn't matter. Hell, even the Texas Club should be able to open if it follows those rules. No dancing obviously, but they should be allowed to open if they can follow the rules.

I know I'm in Mississippi. I know of one person that has had it. A mid-late 50's African-American lady that is diabetic and has had a past stroke. She said it was like a bad cold.

Luckily my local bar sells food too so they will open up. Even the last few weeks they've been pretty busy with the outdoor patio and seating and we would occasionally "forgot" what the rules were and some of us would stand around talking and drinking while inside picking up drinks and ordering food.

This.

And we need to figure out a way to get the message out to the scared old people that we are still going to have positives and life will go on.
I'm so sick of seeing these fckers freak out everyday when the numbers are posted due to positive test.

Rolling Averages...decided to just show the last 30 days of the charting. I can go back to the full 2.5 months if preferred.
