Love cast iron. Don’t like Lodge at all! Griswold or old Wagner are much better IMO. Birmingham Stove is another good old (vintage) brand

I own about 12 Lodge pieces between cast iron and cast iron enameled.

They can’t be beat for the money.

Yes, I have some pans that are over 60 years old and I have some about 10 years old. I love them and they are great for the money.

Good, solid, cheap cast iron. Just like it's supposed to be. Love it.

Lodge is much better if you sand it smooth when you get it and re-season. It certainly isn’t the old stuff, but the difference in price isn’t worth it if you want to cook with it. If you want to post online about your grizwold collection, lodge won’t get you there.

All of my cast iron is Lodge and love them. But also never really looked into other lines of cast iron either.

Lodge is very rough and very heavy, but hard to beat at the price point.

if you're doing it right it will be smooth as glass within a year.

i cook everything in cast iron including scrambled eggs.

i use high heat and the cast iron is better than teflon non-stick shite.

hint: you've seasoned it wrong if you can't throw a little butter in a cast iron skillet and scramble eggs without having them stick.

And also a hell of a lot harder to find than a Lodge you can get off amazon.

ETA: Unless you're willing to pay a hell of a lot more than a Lodge off Ebay.

Their new factory is impressive. Especially considering the podunk arse town where it is located.

Are you denigrating the great cosmopolitan city that is South Pittsburg, Tennessee?
