It’s a shame, Rey could have been an awesome character.

May as well put a bumper sticker on it saying “We Brake For Nobody”.

It's not really ever a good sign when the final trailer is released and it still doesn't have it's rating.

Especially for a movie like this. Means they don't have a finished product to present to the MPAA.

Yikes. Hard pass. It'll play for free somewhere someday.

Too bad they made her such a Mary Sue. Ridley can cry and pout all she wants about Rey being called a Mary sue, but Rey should be the new Mary Sue all of them are measured against.

It is really sad how powerful she became/becomes. She is a one woman wrecking crew.

They should change the term to being a Daisy Rey.

You could probably add "steam-punk" to the genres there as well.

You can call it whatever you want but the crossover with Matrix was minimal, at best, which pretty much guaranteed a hostile audience.

They should just go back to the end of The Force Awakens and just start reshooting there.

If you've read the leaks and seen the trailers and you STILL buy tickets to go see this steaming pile of shite then you've officially strayed to the dark side and deserve to be cast down with the sodomites in the part of Shawshank Warden Norton threatened to put Andy in after calling him obtuse.

I have determined that if Star Wars is to be fix, they need to reinstate the Legends as cannon. No matter what you say, George Lucas developed a great Star Wars lore with the old cannon. Disney could have spent 100 years making movies from the old cannon. Hell looking back the prequels were not as bad as I first though given this asshattery we have seen since Disney took over. This new crap has not rules, makes no sense and just changes with each movie. UHG...

Disney's fatal miscalculation was thinking that Star Wars needed a reboot.

The public wanted legitimate sequels, not a reboot. With legitimate sequels you could have introduced new characters gradually. The new characters would have "earned" their way into SW lore. A good example is a character like Lando. He's not even in a New Hope, he proves that sequels when done well can introduce beloved new characters into the frey.

It really makes you further appreciate the MCU. They produced 23 films over 11 years and found a way to connect them all in a cogent narrative.

Star Wars and DC should give it a few years and start all over.

The whole "reboot" notion was created by fans after the fact. TFA sucked, and some of them tried to argue themselves into liking it by calling it a "soft reboot" that was "needed" after so many years off.

bullshite. It was formulaic crap made by people who aren't capable of real creativity.

Yep.

I called this shite when TFA came out. That movie set all this crap up and I knew it was coming. I didn't think they would kill off Snoke like that, that was next level stupidity.

I'm not discrediting it as a movie, as a stand alone movie, it isn't bad. I'm just talking what it set up for the Star Wars story itself.

The reason TFA worked for the most part for me was my love of the character of Han Solo. Ford came back and played my favorite character again. When he was on screen, I was feeling the vibe. Even if his story did not make sense in the fact that he left Leia, he was on screen again. Once he died on screen and the nostalgia wore off (and of course the shite storm of TLJ), the movie dulled a great deal from the first viewing.

They wasted a huge opportunity to reunite the original cast and have a more OT centric story while paving the way for the future. They simply did not care to do that and they are paying for that in spades.
