What would Saints Talk do? Taysom Hill or Teddy B over the next 8 weeks?

5.5 YPA is terrible with the weapons we have on offense: 17-30 165. One of those completions was Tre’s 30 yard catch and run with a bunch of missed tackles by the Rams.

If we will have to lean heavily on the run over the next 8 weeks (if Drew is IR’d and comes back W11) then we need to add some additional pop to the running game, and that is Hill.

If Lamar Jackson can put up big numbers, so can Hill in a much better offensive system.

Roll with Hill and try to go 4-4; especially if Payton believes his own Steve Young comment about Hill.

I think you have to give teddy a full week of practice and the coaches time to gameplan with him. If he falters this week you have to start getting hill more involved.

Give Teddy one more game to prove with a full week of prep he can look half way decent at the position.

If we get another terrible performance in Seattle, then it's either Taysom time, or tank for Tua time.

Taysom is the future. Teddy won't be around next year, most likely. Taysom has played in this offense when it counted. Taysom should be the guy.

Andy Dalton threw for 400 yards in W1 at Seattle with only Tyler Boyd and zero running game.

If he can’t perform to half that level, he should give way to Hill,

Give Teddy the full week prepping as the starter. If the offense is ineffective for the entire first half, it’s Hill time - regardless of score.

There is absolutely zero reason to give Teddy another shot. He had his shot. He’s been in the system long enough to have a complete grasp of the playbook and as a backup, his job is to fully understand the game plan and be mentally and physically prepared to play. He wasn’t. Teddy is a guy that will play pretty smart and that’s great and all, but he’s not a playmaker. And in this modern game of football, you MUST have a playmaker at the most important position to win games, that’s not him. That’s Taysom. If Sean plays Teddy, we’ll win 1 or 2 games of the next 8. If Taysom plays, we have a much better chance of staying in this thing.

I want to see what Sean can do with a full week of prep with Teddy. Look what he did with the one game with the backup generator. I think Taysom’s running ability is a complete game changer.

Neither Hill or Bridgewater are the answer. Saints have been gambling for years without a viable backup, or drafting a future QB, and it just bit them in the arse.

It’s funny that I have FFToday’s draft spreadsheets for fantasy football, and they have a tab for team depth charts so you can check out expected depth at all positions later in the draft..

It had Taysom Hill as the Saints #2 and Teddy at #3 at the end of the preseason.

If payton really thinks tayson hill profiles similarly to steve young he kinda has to prep him and roll with him at some point, doesn't he?

No he isn’t. If Payton ever thought that for a second, he wouldn’t be playing special teams and running the ball

For what it's worth, I don't think it's fair without at least one week getting full first team reps. Let him work with the coaches giving him all the attention to see what he can do. While I don't think he's the future, I feel like he could at least be a bandaid to cling to winning 3 or 4 out of the next 6.

If he goes to Seattle and it's just abysmal, then start looking for answers.

Hill clearly outplayed Bridgewater the entire preseason....Give Taysom the reps the with 1'st team.

Depending on the game situation, play them both! Need to find a 3rd QB for the roster???

Its Taysom time. I would guess the players know it, Sean has got to know it and for sure any fan with an average football IQ can clearly see it as well.
Taysom isn’t going to sit back in the pocket and take sacks, hes going to scramble or sling it.

Teddy should be CUT today. Throw the QB book at Taysom and say "you're up, don't frick it up". Passing, TH can't do any worse than TB. TH is mobile, already knows some plays made for his skill set...just makes too much sense.

Cannot believe how bad TB looked.

I don't see the practices and I don't know how good either are when starting a real NFL game. Bridgewater has, or at least had something a few years ago. Let Payton try a couple games to get it out of him.

I've not lost hope.

Yup.

You give him the next two weeks with full game plan and practice, with a little bit of Taysom thrown in.

If he doesn't get it done, and is still indecisive, you have to roll with the Taysom show.
