Head down to Off the Florida Keys, there's a place called Kokomo
That's where you want to go to get away from it all

We had a fridge, lights and in the evenings we had been able to cool the kitchen/dining/living room areas to sleep in. We had neighbor sleeping on the floor on blow up mattresses and sleeping bags because it was just miserable at their places.

Did this exact thing post Katrina. Hung comforters in the stairwell to wall off the upstairs rooms. Did the same with a couple rooms downstairs.

Had a really comfortable kitchen, living room bathroom and sleeping area. Ran both refrigerators and two window units. Kept the blinds closed all the time. Would fire up the generator about 2 hours then shut it off for 4-5.

We had 16 or 17 5 gallon cans of gas. Could have lasted 3 months like that.

I’m sure this has been asked and answered, but what are the odds of the storm passing through FL, getting back into open water and giving us an uppercut?

Good luck to the people in FL. I hope this thing isn’t too hard on you guys.

Very low chance of this happening. It's going to turn north sooner

I went and got gas. They are saying on the radio that most Orlando stations are out, but they are announcing on the radio who has gas,
. I heard them say 32% were out of gas. Not quite most. But yeah, stay safe my Orlando neighbor. I think this is going to be a long drawn out thing. I’m not expecting intense winds unless the track changes, but some serious flooding rain could be a big issue.

Natural selection tends to eventually weed out some of the inferior genes in any species. Anyone flying to Disney today is obviously begging to be part of that cycle.

I am about 50 miles WSW of you and right in the path. I have food, tools, extra dog food, and insurance. I am ready to go.

On a side note, I have a new puppy that will be 7 months old on Wednesday. He is now 81 pounds and loves the rain. He is normally a wild man. We are about to see him get crunk.

Look at this map and tell me if I am the only one that sees it as being odd at the end.

Found a pic of Dorian among a few other things. The sunrise, city lights, and the difference between two economies.

Levi Cowan @TropicalTidbits · 21m Overnight, #Dorian has intensified at only a gradual pace, and that will likely be the case until the eyewall closes off. For now, the core consists of a wrapping band that is forming a partial eyewall, but not a complete one yet.

Looks like the GFS moved south a little on the 6z run. Seems to be coming in around West Palm Beach instead of Stuart. Yeah, we're only talking 15 miles, but still, a slight jog south. I have yet to see any forecasts pulling it north. Every one keeps going a little further south each run.

Spirit airlines won’t refund them so they’ll risk their life instead of giving up their $49
