Where have you eaten in Charleston, and where have you eaten in those cities?

Multiple places

Husk
Fuel
Fig
Ordinary
North of Broad
Something Oast

Thats to name a few. Me and my wife went often before we had kids

Charleston has great food. But its New Orleans Lite when it comes to food. To pump that into world class is a lofty statement at best

Never been to all of them

Have you been to every city in the world? Because you are saying it’s a world class city so if you haven’t been to every city.......

That’s the logical train you are riding on

Y'all are arguing semantics. It's clearly very very good, especially for being mid sized.

No, but as I said in my other post, I've eaten at multiple Michelin star restaurants in multiple countries, mostly in Europe.

You would agree that those would be world-class restaurants, right?

Several restaurants in Charleston equal or surpass those restaurants.

That's the logical train I'm riding on.

A world class restaurant can still be "world class" and found in a smaller city. Hell Faviken is considered world class and it's in the middle of nowhere Sweden.

I personally don’t think it’s semantics

It is great food

Saying it’s a world class food destination is a bit much. I also like fricking with Caterpillar

Which restaurant in Charleston to you find better than a Michelin restaurant you ate at?

That’s a strong statement both ways

Very familiar with it. I'd still pick it.

McCrady's (tasting room, not tavern) and Husk off the top of my head.

Husk is on par with several one stars I've eaten at. McCrady's is easily better than the couple two stars I've eaten at. Not quite three star level though.

Husk is a great restaurant, but I personally wouldn’t put that near the one Michelin restaurant I ate at

I'll caveat and say I ate at both when Sean Brock was still involved locally.

Can't really comment on the quality now that he's left since the chef makes such a huge impact on the quality of food in a high end restaurant.

No fricking way. I like Husk, but I wouldn't put it anywhere near a Michelin star.

Man, I don't think people really comprehend geography sometimes when it comes to the West.

8 hour drive

None of those places are the close enough to just pop over for a weekend. It's a fricking haul. That is definitely the biggest downside to living almost anywhere in the PNW - you basically have to fly almost everywhere if you want to enjoy anything that's "nearby".
