The aliens use mattress tags to like control us so it’s like super important that they make sure you don’t remove them

This is probably part of your shtick, but I'll bite.

The consumer can remove them. They shouldn't be removed by anyone else because they are part of the product as required by law, I assume for safety reasons (fire, allergies, etc).

Do you think it's illegal to read the tag, too?

Walt, Talkspace.com is a website you might consider checking out. You can get $45 off your first month. I worry about you dude it would be a shame for TD to lose one of its two national treasures (Kige being the other).

Walt, the feds wont notice if you remove the tag in the comfort of your own home. There isnt a device in the tag that goes off when you snip it.

I do remember as a kid, I was paranoid yet filled with curiosity at the same time. I so badly wanted to cut off the tag, but I didnt want to go to jail either. It was an interesting dilemma for a 7 year old.

Mattress industry used to stuff mattresses full of anything that could find for cheap so the Gov't made them put a tag listing what was inside.

However, the stores started removing the tags so they could continue to sell mattresses stuffed with less desirable items. So a law was passed to make it illegal to remove the tag.

It's been years since I was told this so I may be off.
Many, many years ago manufacturers were putting something other than cotton, fibre, down, etc. into pillows, mattresses and so on.
Supposedly they'd put old rags, scraps, whatever into pillows and mattresses.

I guess it was some fed law.
At one point it said "..not to be removed by penalty of law..." and eventually was changed to say something like "..not to be removed except by consumer....'
