Wife is freaking out little bit because a house few streets over had someone try to knock the door in. We live in area south of KC and is an older residential area that usually doesn't have any issues.

What types of things do you have on your home to help with security other than security system? Was thinking of getting a Ring type doorbell and maybe some new motion activated spotlights. Do the ring doorbells connect to existing door bell?

Thanks

Two pit bulls and a 9mm ought to do the trick.

You can if you want to. They also sell a chime.

You replace the existing doorbell with the Ring, connecting it to the same wires the doorbell used. It’s easy to install, did it for my mother last year.

Too bad my dad’s WWII 45 ACP was in the duck boat when it capsized.

It would have been a perfect home defense gun for me to have really near my bed.

We have a ring doorbell and a ring motion detector floodlight on the side and rear of the house.

Works great and I can ask someone what they want at the front door if I am not home.

You can also set off an alarm

A shotgun is always a nice addition to any home security system. The sound of that pump action is known universally.

I have Blink XT cameras.

I’ve had them a few months now and couldn’t be happier with them.

WiFi and battery.

No wires involved.

They work great with your phone.

Can’t recommend enough.

You are dumb as shite.

Men have the biological capacity to father children into at least our 70s.

I’ll try to make this simple enough for you to understand-

WWII (for the US) 1941-1945

Therefore the youngest US WWII combat vets were born ~1927

1927 + 70 = 1997

2019 - 1997 = 22 year-old

So I could easily be 22 years-old.

This fact equals confirmation that “ur dum”.

This is not earth-shattering news to us here.

Life must be tough when you are almost always the dumbest person in the room?

I've got security cameras around the house. Dogs, too.

I guess none of those actually prevent anything, though.

One simple piece of advice that cops will tell you to do is to keep your blinds closed. Criminals can't see in to see what you've got or if you're home.

I’d rig up a tiger pit trap. Use the door mat as a concealer.

We have the Ring and love it.
Yes it hardwires to existing doorbell to provide power and it uses the existing chimes.

We also have Arlo cameras around our house. The Ring makes spotlight cameras that are motion activated. They’re nice.
For that we just went with a regular motion-sensored flood light.
