A 2001 Toyota Echo I bought new. Bare bones, manual transmission. Rode like a tin can, but 17 years later, my sister's ex-H still drives that car.

I have a 2005 Tundra. Just turned 250k miles and it runs like a top. I get the itch every now and then to buy something newer, but after looking at truck prices for about 10 minutes I loose the itch pretty quick.

My first vehicle was an 83 Toyota truck. Between me, my brother, and my dad we put over 300k miles on it. I heard the guy my dad sold it to still drives it.

I had the same car. 2000 Honda Accord. Bought it at 95,000 miles and drove it over 300,000 miles.

Only repair was an alternator. Otherwise just routine maintenance.

Everything still worked when I sold it. Clock, interior lights, all electricals, etc.

Awesome car.

As long as you can be your own mechanic and source OEM parts. They are maintenance whores.

My 1st car was a Datsun 210. I hated the car, it had a manual choke on dash, I rarely used the clutch and slammed it from gear to gear. I did countless what I called high speed sliding donuts in which I would get as much speed in an open field we hung out after school, and then yanked the parking brake and cut the wheel. The more I hated on the car, the longer it lived. Dad finally sold it to one of his workers who I think drove it for a while, don't know what it's final fate was, but I am sure it lived for many years.

In hindsight,
