I've always thought about it just to help someone out. I just don't think it is worth the risk of picking up some psycho

Picked up a guy who had run out of gas one time. Brought him to the next exit to get a can of gas and brought him back to his car.

I remember when I was about 7 yrs old I was with my dad and he picked up a guy who had broken down in BR. It was a clean cut guy in a suit. I think we just brought him to a convenient store to use a payphone. I remember telling my mom about it and she was pissed at my dad. Good times

One more time in the past year...was getting gas on my way from Houston to BR. Some kid was at the gas station with a broken down scooter looking for a ride. We put his scooter in the back of my truck and I drove him to his house outside of Lafayette.

i do all the time. the odds of there being two serial killers in the same car are pretty slim.

I did one time in college.

I was being an idiot and drove to Whataburger somewhat intoxicated. Big black dude asks for a ride, I told him YOLO, and I’d do it as long as he didn’t murder me.

Took the guy to the deep projects in Waco, he was grateful. I drove home and enjoyed my feast.

Woke up the next day, remember putting my wallet on my console and realized the dude stole my wallet after I gave him a ride.

Haven’t picked up a hitchiker since.

I did once. I was getting gas on Sherwood and a younger black guy came up to me and asked for a ride to work which was in plaquemine. I was like nah man but here’s a few bucks to get a taxi or something. He refused the money and said its all good man I don’t want your money. And he just continues walking. I took off and felt bad bc the dude was just trying to get to work. I turned around and picked him up and he was very grateful. Said his baby momma lived off Sherwood and his cousin would give him rides out there but then leave him to go do hood shite and he would have to walk to work. Said he had did it 20-30 times and I thought he was bullshitting so asked the route to get from Sherwood to Plaquemine and he told me with no hesitation exactly how to do it. Used the ferry to cross the river. He would have to leave like 6-8 hours before his shift to make it to work on time

Yes, but only if I am in a vehicle by myself. I also let them know I am armed.

The only way I'm doing that now is if I see someone broken down on the side of the road and obviously needing help. To hell with picking up hitchhikers with duffel bags and looking like they haven't bathed in weeks.

No telling how fricked up they are or what they intend to do once in your vehicle.

Far too many crazy people walking the streets today. Taking a walk around downtown N.O. only bolsters that point as I see more and more of the transient type walking around talking to themselves. The bipolar train seems to be in the station.

I’ve never picked up a hitchhiker, however I have hitchhiked. Guess that makes me an a-hole.

Not a hitchhiker, but I have picked up an elderly lady carrying bags of groceries and gave her a ride home. I would do it again.

About 20 years ago. I was about 18-19, going from Central to Denham for something and there were two girls about 16-17 walking across the Amite River bridge. Not a bad experience. When we got to the house I dropped them off at, they asked if I wanted to hang out with them and smoke some weed. I declined and went on my way.

Only once. It was a young lady at a Walgreens who asked me for a ride. She was obviously a runaway. She was looking for some place to eat, so I brought her to a local diner, and gave her some money to buy some food. After I dropped her off, I called the police to check on her. She looked like she was in a bad spot.
