How do we fit all the guys back into the line up and where do you expect them to hit?

Does Cabrera go back to LF? If so, does Bain still DH with one of the Jordan’s on the bench?

Looks like we have a good problem on our hands with trying to fit all the guys in the line up.

Was just about to make this thread. It's definitely a problem to have.

I'm thinking:
LF: Cabrera
CF: Watson
RF: Dups
3B: Slaughter
SS: Smith
2B: Broussard
1B: Bryce Jordan
C: Feduccia
DH: Bain/Beau Jordan

ETA: I agree with yall on Slaughter over Hughes. Edited my proposed lineup. Aside from yesterday Slaughter has been pretty reliable at 3B and made some decent plays. He's just so hot and cold with the bat that I suspect Paul will tinker with that spot in the lineup for awhile.

Hughes go to utility bench player/late game defensive replacement. If you’re going to have a guy playing everyday hitting .200, it should be slaughter at 3B because he has HR potential.

Can Bain play 3rd?

Hard to keep Slaughter out the lineup when he is hot.

I would love to see everyone's preferred lineups.

If Healthy I would have Smith at SS and I don't know if I would start Hughes over a number of other guys who could potentially play 3rd.

I will check back later to see what others post.

Bain and Beau are too productive for them both not to be in the lineup

Yup. Slaughter gets in over Hughes for me as well.

bain has done everything else, so lets just put him at 3b. jk, sort of. Smith at ss.
LF/1b/DH a combo of Jordan brothers, Cabrera, Slaughter, webre.

Hughes over Slaughter would be absolutely mind boggling.

Can Hughes play 3B or do we plug Smith in at 3B since he's played there before?

IF Hughes remains in the lineup Mainieri's going to keep him at SS and slide Smith over to 3B. SS is much more taxing in the way a player has to move laterally and Hughes has more than shown enough to stay at the position if only for defensive purposes.

Lineup if he wants Hughes

LF: Cabrera
CF: Watson
RF: Dups
3B: Smith
SS: Hughes
2B: Broussard
1B: Bryce Jordan/Bain/Coomes
C: Feduccia
DH: Beau Jordan

Lineup if he wants Slaughter

LF: Cabrera
CF: Watson
RF: Dups
3B: Slaughter
SS: Smith
2B: Broussard
1B: Bryce Jordan/Bain/Coomes
C: Feduccia
DH: Beau Jordan

Yeah it’s going to be interesting to see what they do. My thoughts...

LF - Cabrera/Beau
CF - Watson
RF - Duplantis
3B - Slaughter
SS - Smith
2B - Broussard
1B - Bryce/Bain
C - Feduccia
DH - Bain/Beau/Cabrera

I think PM will play LF based on pitching matchups.

All of a sudden this team gets pretty deep with lots of match up options with a true shutdown defense unit for close situations.

make Bain the Sunday starter hitting for himself of course, put Hughes at 3rd and Slaughter DHs for him

can you DH for a position player?

It is definitely a wealth of riches once we get everyone back. At this point I'm convinced Bain can play every position on the field. Kid is a beast.

To me if he wants better defense it would be
3B - Smith
SS - Hughes
1B - Slaughter/Coomes/Bain
DH - Bain/Jordan

Offense
3B - Slaughter
SS - Smith
1B - Bain/Commes/Jordan
DH - Jordan/Commes/Webre

We have a lot of good problems to have once everyone is back, I dont see Hughes staying in starting lineup but is a defensive replacement at 3B, SS or 2B basically.

LF - Cabrera or Beau Jordan...platoon, other guy DH
CF - Watson
RF - Duplantis
1B - Bryce Jordan, Bain, Webre...again, can platoon
2B - Broussard...dude was raking it before he got hurt
SS - Smith
3B - Slaughter
DH - Other left fielder, Br. Jordan, Bain, Webre...wealth of options

Once Smith is healthy I would go:

C: Feduccia
1B: Bryce/Bain
2B: Broussard
SS: Smith
3B: Slaughter
LF: Cabrera/Beau
CF: Watson
RF: Duplantis
DH: Cabrera/Beau/Bain/Bryce

Cabreras bat is to valuable not to be in the lineup, so he's DH by default if he's not in LF. When it's put down like that, this LSU team SHOULD be lethal.

Not going to lie, I kind of want Mainieri to let Bain play every position just to do it. Won't happen because it would be practically stupid to do, but theoretically awesome.

With all guys healthy it does get interesting. I'm probably going to agree Hughes is going to become a defensive replacement. 3b will probably be primarily slaughter, but Smith and Reed potentially could see some time there. I have no idea if Bain can play there, but at this point it wouldn't surprise me. Could be an interesting experiment after Broussard gets back.

2b pretty much has to be Broussard unless he struggles, then you could throw Bain back there. Lf/1b/dh all depends on matchups and who's playing well at the time.

It's a good thing to have options, but at least a part of me is worried that it'll hurt our chemistry.

IMO:

(1) Beau Jordan- LF
(2) Watson- CF
(3) Duplantis- RF
(4) Bain- 1B
(5) Smith- SS
(6) Broussard- 2b
(7) Feduccia- C
(8) Cabrera- DH
(9) Slaughter- 3B

If Smith can get into a rhythm then you try him again in the leadoff spot.
