CF: Watson/Bain
RF: Duplantis/Bain
DH: Bain/Jordan du jour/Bain
3B: Bain/Slaughter
2B: Broussard/Bain
SS: Smith/Bain
LF: Cabrera/Jordan du jour/Bain
C : Feduccia/we-in-trouble
P : Hess/Hilliard/Bain (Bain hits for himself)
1B: Jordan du jour/Bain/Slaughter

I would go something like this:

If Smith gets healthy and can play SS:

C-Fedducia
1b-Slaughter
2b-Broussard
SS-Smith
3b-Bain
Lf-Beau/DC
CF-Watson
RF-Dup
DH-DC/Beau

If you trust Bain to play 2nd, no doubt he can handle 3rd! I think Slaughter is best defensively at 1st!

Bryce/Webre are good pinch hit guys depending on situation and match up. Hughes is a possible defensive replacement late in game.

If Smith can't play short I'd go:

3b-Smith
SS-Broussard
2b-Bain
1b-Slaughter

Everyone else the same.

Broussard has to play, IMO.

In an earlier post I said I thought Broussard would be the odd man out but that was due, in part, to a seven home run weekend and the realization of how important power is to a team's success rate.

Even though it's hard to sit one of our stronger hitters one will have to sit because Broussard will be in the lineup with the way he has hit thus far.

We'll probably see any number of variables with the lineup down the stretch.

I'm thinking:
LF: Cabrera
CF: Watson
RF: Dups
3B: Slaughter
SS: Smith
2B: Broussard
1B: Bryce Jordan
C: Feduccia
DH: Bain/Beau Jordan

If you want Broussard back in the line-up then you either have to put him at 3rd or try Bain there or move him back to 1st. You CAN'T take Bain's bat out of this line-up it is truly that simple and he shouldn't be taken out of the field for either of the Jordan's or Slaughter for that matter. Bain is a better fielder than either of the twins.

LF: Cabrera (faster, more explosive, future)

SS: Smith
2B: Broussard
1B: A Bain ("It factor", RBI, Slg%)
C : Feduccia
DH: Beau J (Power, Avg, Slg%)
btw, I think Bryce and Webre need some playing time. Bryce due to RBI / AB and Webre for LH bat and future.

Chris Reid should be hitting lead-off for us. He has been arguably the BEST clutch hitter on the team for two years. He just gets on base, period. I hate it for him bc on any other team, he’d be starting at second and would be a solid lead-off batter. I personally think he should be at second. Chris has GOT to be in!!!!

Slaughter 3B
Smith SS
Hughes 2B
Bain 1B

Now would be the time to do it with Broussard being hurt. Would give Hughes and Smith time to get with each other

Broussard is supposed to be back tomorrow barring a setback.

I know. I just think Hughes will get it together. He has a higher ceiling IMO

Wow. You're talking about replacing the leading hitter on the team with the worst hitter on the team and Broussard has played well in the field too. I have to disagree.

This is exactly what I think will happen if everyone gets healthy. I seriously think CPM will keep Hughes at SS. I seriously think this board will melt when it happens as well.

It's fractional. They have the same amount of hits and Hughes only has 20 more at bats. It's not night and day
