Are you satisfied with:

A) A 2-loss or fewer regular season
B) A 3-loss regular season
C) A 4-loss regular season
D) An above .500 regular season
E) wins and losses don’t matter

Anything below A) equals “we should have kept Les Miles” in my opinion. Miles could likely meet B), and for sure C). LSU is paying him $9 million and Canada $1.7 million in buyouts so we can have Orgeron as HC. What record is needed to justify those buyouts?

I can accept 3 losses IF the passing attack develops this year and is good by the end of the year. realistically, with a first year starter, we could lose some games just because of that.

otherwise 2 losses.

2-10 should be able to satisfy most LSU fans.

Because I’m curious whether people’s standards have actually been lowered based on who is coach.

I've come to the conclusion that it's title game appearance or failure this season. Since Nick Saban Lost to UAB and then went on to win a national championship, and Ed O lost to Troy last year, Kirby Smart went to the title game in Year 2. That's a fair comparison for O. He must also get the #1 recruiting class.

This is how the pro-O's think, so I'll side with them on this. Title Game Appearance or O should be fired immediately. Most likely A.

Another thread. Another flawed premise. Another faulty conclusion. Just another day on The Rant.

Because his loss to Troy doesn't matter, at least that's what I've been told. Saban lost to UAB, therefore O can be equal to Saban. And if O can be equal to Saban, then he can be equal to Kirby Smart.

Dude, I'm just following the logic of some posters around here. If you can "explain away" Troy via "they were a good team," and "Saban lost to UAB," then you can also then raise the expectations that O must replicate UGA's year 2 this year in his year 2.

Now, if people want to stop making stupid Dabo and Saban comparisons with O, then I would agree that it's equally stupid to compare O to Smart. But as long as we go down that path, we go down that path all the way.

With the schedule that we have, 3 losses is acceptable if they come from a combo Miami, Auburn, UGA, or Bama.

Just to clarify, acceptable means O won’t lose his job not that I’d necessarily be excited by that outcome.

10-2 or better would get me excited. 9-3 with losses being “good losses” (I hate that term) would keep me off the ledge.

With this tough schedule 8-9 wins with a new QB and improved passing game would be good

We will know game 1 what this team is made of. Toughest opening game since Oregon in 11.

Why? 3 L’s are still L’s. If lsu wins 2 of those games they’re prob in playoff. Those are the games on the schedule. Time to win.

Those are the games lsu needs to win to take that next step. If he can’t win them why did we get rid of miles?
